Bordering the Arabian Sea, this famous road is a popular spot for watching sunsets, and is gorgeous when lit up at night.
A drive on Marine Drive in the evening affords great night vistas of Mumbai's skyline dotted with lights.. the walkway that adjoins the Sea makes for a pleasant walk and faces the Arabian Sea on one end and a line of Art Deco heritage buildings ( some in need of repair) on the opposite side... although a busy road, Marine Drive or the Queens necklace as it is referred to on account of its natural curve and string of pearl overhead lights is an integral icon of Mumbai.

Saptshringi nivasini mata is represented by a huge idol with 16 hands. Her Aura instantly attracts. We went there from Nasik on the way to Saputara. Road.is good. Ride to hill top is very smooth and approach road is excellent. There was huge rush and took us 2 hours even with the funicular. No social distancing in the Corona times, even though they insist on mask. Funicular is really a well maintained a well operated boon for the devotees. Its not a Rodeway but railway i think. I was carrying my mother who is 72 year old and physically frail. There is an arrangement for wheel chair along with escort for senior citizen with extra cost of INR100, which makes Darshan quite easy for them. Funicular rate is now INR 100 PP.

Had darshan on 26/12/19 - Evening Had darshan on 27/12/19 - Early Morning Travelled from Nashik old CBS stand and it is 2 hrs drive. Ticket price INR 40/- and bus leaves every 30 minutes. Stayed at Shri Gajanan Ashram and the bus drops you right at the gate. Ashram is at a distance of about 1 km away from temple gate and one can easily walk else there are share auto at INR 10/- per person which drop you till the temple. Had evening darshan after a 4 1/2 hour wait in the queue. Next day morning 5.30am had darshan in 1 hour wait. Early morning darshan is desirable as rush is less. Additionally during evening there is a donation queue where one can pay INR 200/- and have darshan in 2 to 2 1/2 hrs. Hope this helps for those who are going to the temple for the 1st time. Reached from Mumbai to Kudal by train and connecting bus to Malvan which is about 30 km away. Another bus for Devbag which is about 10 km away. The name Tarkarli is derived from the river Karli which flows in the area. Tar means the river side. Every house here is involved directly or indirectly with tourism industry. Most families have built few rooms for the tourists to occupy- home stay. They prepare home food and serve to the tourists. Beach cottages plentiful. Here people are very good and helpful. Beach is neat and clean with sea water transparent. Hotels here want the customers to book food in advance and then they prepare for the order, there by serving you fresh food. Choice of food is generally limited. Few hotels like Coastal Galaxy has good food choices. One can enjoy water sports at Tsunami island which is reachable by ferries which charge about Rs 500 for the cruise. They take you around for half an hour's journey showing you the Dev sangam the mingling of sea and the river. Here on Tsunami island one can take various rides like Water skiing, banana ride, sofa ride etc for Rs 200 each or package of Rs 500 for three rides. There is also provision for para sailing and scuba diving for which charges are about Rs 800 and Rs 1000 respectively. Walk on the Devbaug beach is very pleasant. One can safely go in the water and enjoy neat and clean water. It's so transparent that you can see the sand below. Sunset scene here is magnificent. One can enjoy the sunrise scene at Tarkarli beach which is about 3 km from Devbaug. Here various camel and horse rides are available. Coconut trees are plentiful. Coconut water here is much sweeter than what one gets in Mumbai. Sindhudurg fort can be reached from Malvan. For reaching it, one has to take a small boat ride which charges Rs 90 per head. Rock garden at Malvan is nicely managed. It's worth a visit. Good time to visit is December January. At Malvan one can enjoy the local delicacy Malvan Khaja. It is vary tasty and has mild sweetness and ginger. Malvan fish dishes are great. Doelkars spices shop is popular and one can take home malvani spices and other delicacies.

If travelling by car one can reach near base of fort , still one has to climb 150+ steps , but real fun is climbing from village , this is almost 8 km trek , one should make a climb once .

Mahalaxmi temple of Kolhapur city, is one of the famous temples in Maharashtra state. We went to the temple in the month of December 2019 at around 11.30 am where the crowd was descent. The murti of crowned goddess is made of gemstone and weighs about 40 kgs. The image of Mahalaxmi carved in black stone is 3 feet in height. Entire temple is still on old architecture of carving. There is famous Kirnotsav celebrations (Festival of sun rays) celebrated in the temple when the rays of the sun directly fall on the footsteps of murti at the time of sunset. One will feel blessed just by entering the temple as you will have positive vibes all around. Do give a visit.
