COVID -19 UPDATE Talland Church will be open on Sundays only for private prayer between 10.00 and 17.00. Set beside the South West Coast footpath, between Looe & Polperro, Talland Church is a place of peace & tranquility. TALLAND CHURCH as we see it today was not built to serve a large community but to maintain a holy site where the Christian faith had been established some 1500 years ago. The three Lancet Windows in the West Wall date the present church to the 13th century and much of the old woodwork & carved pews remained unspoiled by religious changes. For more about our Church at Talland, its history & characters and help with ancestral research please visit our website. We cannot guarantee winter opening of the Church building but if you are making a special trip to Talland Church please email in advance to ensure the building is open. The Churchyard and grounds are open all year. Thank you, enjoy your visit.
I have loved this ancient spirit filled church for over 60 years. The tower is separated from the body of the church by an arch way which covers the entrance to the church and the separate entrance to the Bell tower. The church is believed to have been built on an ancient ley line with the alter being over the junction of two ley lines. The view over Talland bay from the cliff top above the church is beautiful and soothing even in the rain! The bay below has rocks that are naturally tinted with pink and green.

Visited today from the takeaway side, was a bit of a wait maybe the vinegar pepper etc could but put on a separate stand because serving groups and then them all deciding if they want vinegar and faffing around with it between them all I was waiting over 15 minutes. I feel this would reduce queues and keep the number of people down. Food was nice, pleasant staff who made sure you were greeted and said good bye to. I had cockles, prawns, crab, prawns, crayfish claws as a mix and it was lovely I really enjoyed it. This isn’t a bad reviews as I didn’t have a bad experience just a suggestion that the pepper and vinegar on the same hatch as the serving window slowed things right up. All the best

A 5.4 mile moderate coastal walk along the South West Coast Path taking in a holy legend, a 6th century monastery, an 18th century eccentric and a 19th century engineer. There are rockpools on the beaches, remnants of shipwrecks, tales of smugglers, and the walk ends with a stroll up through the picturesque fishing village of Polperro to Crumplehorn, where you can catch a bus back to Looe.
We caught the bus from our b&b in Looe in Polperro which is a lovely little harbour town in itself and well worth a wonder around. In the grand scheme of cliff walks, this one is fairly easy and around 6 miles. It’s a little craggy out of Polperro and you are very close to the cliff edge in places, but nothing you can’t handle with the right footwear. There’s a nice stop off at Talland Bay for refreshments just under half way. You also walk through a lovely nature reserve and we had the robins singing to us all of the way through! The views are spectacular as you’d expect. Highly recommended.

Lovely nautical homeware - done several bathrooms with lovely items from here!!! - I got gifts for all the family - also they have fair prices unlike a lot of homeware shops these days. Great historic building with a giftshop that's been their since I first visited Looe as a little girl 40-something years ago.

Pendragon Crafts-Looe's legendary Gift Shop
This is a well belated review but I felt I needed to write one anyway. I was getting married in February this year and on the day we realised that my wedding ring had been misplaced. I went into Looe to see what could be found. When I saw this shop and knowing what treasures it contained I went to go in but it was before its opening time. A lady coming down the street said it would be open shortly however I informed her I didn't have that time to spare and the reason why. With that the owner appeared and hearing my plight had me in the shop straight away and between them they found me not one but two rings that I liked. I bought them and just made it to the wedding on time. On behalf of my wife and myself I would just like to say a huge thank you to the ladies of Pendragon and you went above and beyond that day. This is a fantastic shop to visit if you are in Looe (even if you are a local)
