Paramahansa Yogananda (author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi) founded Yogoda Satsanga Society of India in 1917. It was here, in Ranchi, that Paramahansa Yogananda began his life's work of making the teachings of Kriya Yoga universally available, with the founding of an ashram and a "How-to-Live" school for boys. All are welcome to come and experience inner and outer peace amidst the serene Ashram environs, and to discover the Raja Yoga teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. You are also welcome to attend the Sunday satsanga and daily meditations at our ashram. Paramahansa Yogananda's Room: The room is open to all for private meditation throughout the day. Litchi Vedi: It was under the shady canopy of this large litchi tree that the great Guru frequently held outdoor classes and satsangas for the boys who attended the school founded by him. Smriti Mandir: It was here that Paramahansaji had his vision of going to the West (as described in Autobiography of a Yogi)
A beautiful ashram which is full of peace, purity, calmness, spiritual vibrations specially The Litchi Vedi.. Must visit once in a lifetime .

This place is quite similar to hill station. The place has been maintained by the government very well, cleanliness is all around. One can witness the view of complete city from the hill top.Looks very fascinating in the night. The hill top lord Shiva temple is known for its significance of being holy and sacred and was built quite a long time ago.
