About 200,000 names on the head stones. Soldiers from both sides and about 100,000 civilians. Casualties of war. This should be the second site to visit after the Former Navy Underground HQ. It is situated near cliffs overlooking the ocean. Lets you reflect the cruelty of mankind and what war brings.

This market is located south of Nago need the outlet mall. There's a whole line of shops selling sushi, sashimi and some grilled seafood as well. We were here just after it opens at 10 and it was fairly popular but not crowded. Prices were pretty good and the seafood all looked very fresh. We opted for some nigiri and one of the shops were you can pick you own sashimi for about 300yen a portion. We got to try some great parrot fish sashimi, that famous blue Okinawan fish. The oysters were so creamy and delicious! There's plenty of tables and benches located in the outside area. The second building of the market had a souvenir shop and some restaurants. I really enjoyed coming to this market and much preferred it to Makishi in terms of price and atmosphere.
