Do you want to know which is the secret ingredient? Only by drinking a glass of this collection, you’ll recognize the secret ingredient. Easy to guess…Love
We visited Onepio to do the gold wine tasting which was excellent and great value for money. Most importantly we tasted a number of great wines - we were allowed to pick which ones we wanted to taste from a selection so it can be tailored to personal preferences. We had some lovely local cheeses and other snacks to accompany also. Our hostess was really knowledgable taking us through each wine and how its grown and produced. She struck a great balance between talking to us and giving us time to just enjoy the wine. We stayed for a drink after in the sunshine and ordered a few bottles to be sent home also. Very glad we visited.

Domus Pilandro was erected in San Martino della Battaglia around the late 15th and early 16th centuries. In 1980, this historic dwelling in the heart of the Lugana region was acquired by the Lavelli family along with seventeen acres of vineyards, thereby continuing an age-old tradition of winemaking. Pilandro wines have deep roots in their terroir, and from it they receive their distinctly rich flavor. To keep this inviolable bond intact, the grapes are handled with the great respect they deserve and processed in a manner completely free of oxygen. Fermentation, then, is done under controlled temperature as must, thereby bringing out all of the most intense characteristics and well defined aromas of each wine. Today, the name Pilandro serves to identify a business of international scope, one that is recognized throughout the world of wine for both excellence and a desire to dare and to innovate constantly.

This rectangular bacino is the old harbour of the town now with its entrance arched over by a venetian-style bridge. It is surrounded by palaces, hotels and restaurants but continues as a genuine fishing port with indigenous fishing boats. The harbour has an active 'Friends of' association who keep its interests at heart. This is a fine place to dine in the evening: especially at 'Colomba'.
