This huge church was designed by Walter Doolin architect, and some time later the spire was added in 1916 by O'Callaghan and Webb architects of Dublin. The artistic execution of the carved detailing, mosaics, stained glass and interior decoration complement and enhance this imposing church. The exterior is far more impressive than the church of Ireland church on Henry Street. Don't just walk, the interior is well worth seeing with elaborate mosaics, leaded glass and memorials. How did the people of a small (not rich) town pay for such an impressive edifice?

This was such a lovely picturesque castle to visit, a good board with history of the castle and plenty of areas to run around for young children. Also had the added benefit of a duck pond nearby and a park for all ages to play in :)

I try to pull in here whenever I am in the Boyle/Sligo area as there are cracking views of Lough Key and the surrounding area not to mention this being a lovely statue in itself. Pulled in today with friends and they had never been before. They lived it as I do. Big car park and plenty of benches to sit on, chat, eat if you want to and just admire the views.
