SunCatchers Design Studio is a stained glass studio that has been providing Alberta with custom stained glass since 1979. Classes and supplies are available. The River Dragonfly, next to the studio, is a small eclectic shop in a beautiful natural setting tucked in the woods. In it you will find art works, jewelry, clothing, antiques and a mix of beautiful objets d'art. Open everyday during Decemeber 11:00 to 6:00. Closed Christmas Day - Boxing Day by chance - call to confirm.
My husband and I booked a day at Suncatchers Design Studio to learn more about Stained Glass. It was an immersive day and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Elizabeth is a lovely teacher who is very passionate about her craft, providing us with lots of interesting information and tips throughout the day. We were able to make a small hanging design each to take away. It was very rewarding. There is also a charming shop next to the studio which is worth a look, lots of unusual items within. There is parking available and there are no stairs involved. You are close to the Hamlet so plenty of choice for food and drinks during lunch breaks.

This is a popular destination for locals, Calgarians and visitors wanting something fun to do and see, but not wanting to drive too far. It's only a 45 minute drive from Calgary on good roads. The paved parking area has been beautifully expanded, with several extra pit toilets and lots of benches to use to sit and put on your gear. And there is truly something for everyone! On our recent visit mid-November, we saw mountain bikers and fat-tire bikers, trail runners, snowshoers, walkers, hikers and large family groups out for a stroll. There were even a few cross-country skiers, but there wasn't enough snow to groom the trails - skiers should always consult the web site for trail conditions. On this visit, we started with snowshoes, but there wasn't enough snow even for that, but enjoyed a good workout and excellent views using our micro spikes on our 9 km hike.

The bottom of this great trail is a bit deceiving, as there's usually very little snow there, being south-facing. But as you gain elevation, the snow and ice start to build up. Ice is especially worrisome, because this trail is quite popular with fit seniors, and a wrong fall is seldom good news for us older folks. We were VERY glad to have aggressive ice-grips on our recent summit walk, and even then, on the way back, one section that was steep did cause a little slip but no injury. You do need a bit fitness to enjoy this hike, and in the winter the right gear as well. But if you do have these, you'll never regret trying this excellent hike!

Bragg Creek Provincial Park is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains beside the Elbow River; it has a large open picnic area; fishing is excellent.
Great picnic and day spot. Feel free to stop by any time. There's lots of spots along the river even if it looks busy. A quaint spot

Great spot for a walk and pick-nick, everything has been repaved and all new camp stoves and picnic tables. We were there on a Saturday and only one other pick-nick table was being used and we were the only ones that had a fire. Thanks parks Canada for making this such a nice spot so close to Calgary. Great day wondering around
