Beautiful park with well laid out hiking trails. We were very impressed on how clean everything was, both in the Visitor's center and on the trails. Great interactive activities for children and friendly staff on hand to answer questions. We loved that all the trees where identified.

So much variety in one place. Unique items from a variety of artists. Since items are a little pricey but it's always worth a visit. Gets really crowded at special events and close to the holidays.

From the time the volunteers open the door and say "welcome home" to Visiting the gift shop next door it is an awesome experience. Seeing the home where AA got it's start was humbling. Original furnishings and the highlight was listening to recordings of Dr. Bob and Bill

A major jewel in Downtown Akron, I've been coming here off and on for over 30 years and I've never been disappointed. The prices are reasonable and all of the nuts are fresh.

This large branch of the Summit County Metroparks system has several different areas and entrances, so these comments are limited to the Chuckery area. Not far from the parking lot and toilets is a large tree famous as a Native American trail marker. Past it and across a small meadow, the trail enters a wooded area and quickly brings one up alongside the Cuyahoga River, frequently passes a boisterous section with roiling rapids coupled with calmer pools near to the shore. The trail can be a bit muddy in spots after a rain, and there were a few mosquitoes, but those were the only drawbacks. The trail was wide enough, and was lightly trafficked. The wooded setting was pleasant and quiet, with no noticeable traffic noise even though the park is on the edge of Akron.

We visit this place fairly regularly. I’m usually doing research in the microfilm section and my wife is checking out the latest videos. This is a well-run place that has a lot of children’s activities. It is highly recommended!

I love Ohio and have started exploring our state and discover so much history. This tree was formed by the Indians to mark the most Northeast point of what is called Portage Path. It is the path the Indians used to carry their canoes, for 8 miles, from the Cuyahoga River to Summit Lake. Google It :) VERY accessible. Nice paved parking lot and you walk past the bathrooms and you can see it. There is a 2.5 mile trail to continue if you are a hiker I recommend you Google it and see where it is tucked away ...The road on the maps is called PECK, but when you get to it, it is a township road I believe...but I found it pretty easily.

If you happen to be in the Akron area during late November and early December, you MUST visit the Knight Center’s Akron Children’s Hospital Christmas Tree Festival. There are many, many beautiful trees and the proceeds from their sales go to the Children’s Hospital. There is no admission charge...it’s free to look!!
