This is our favourite place to bring our two dogs. Plenty of off the main track routes to explore, an area with a big pond for the dogs to swim in and the car park is reasonable. If it gets full there is still plenty of room to park on the grass verges.

I am a professional, landscape photographer and have published several views of Badby Woods as greeting cards! Obviously spring is THE time to visit but this elevated woodland is fantastic all year. The views over nearby Badby Village and the surrounding countryside are breath-taking. It represents a large area with many circular walks possible. Close by are the ruins of "The Dower House", a Tudor manor (fenced off but free to view).

Have an adventurous day out in the great outdoors, at any time of the year. Come and explore one of the Midland’s most well-known forests! With activity trails, play areas, bike hire, wild running and mountain biking trails, Sherwood Pines will set the scene for a great day out for all. Get back to basics on one of our bushcraft experiences or soar through the trees on Go Ape’s famous zip wires. If you are feeling a bit peckish after adventuring around the forest, drop in to the Sherwood Pines Café for a range of locally sourced snacks. Top off your trip with an overnight stay! Forest Holidays have a selection of stunning cabins located in the heart of the forest, perfect if you are looking to escape the everyday. Camping in the Forest also provide the perfect spot to pitch your tent and stay in the great outdoors, opening spring 2021.

Visited the Black rocks for a day out with children, for the first time in cromford, Derbyshire, i was mesmerised by the stunning views soon as we had got there, a great place for walks with children or on own to admire the stunning views, right outside our door step, The climb of the rocks a little scary but a lovely little adventure as a family, we went during summer months of 2020, with a little picnic, Sandwich and coffee with a view. A great place to visit with kids for some exciting outdoor fresh air.

Obviously, for a wood famous for its bluebells spring is THE time! However, with ample free parking onsite and being in such a lovely situation, this natural woodland is delightful throughout the year and is great for dog-walkers and families with children alike.

We have been going here since lockdown and it is a great walk. You can meet up with friends and family and have a lovely walk round which doesn’t take long while chatting away. We go nearly everyday to see the ducks and swans as well as climbing and playing hide and seek.
