Hananomai Brewing is a brewery offering Daiginjo, Junmai-shu, and Honjouzou-shu classes of sake in Shizuoka Prefecture. It manufactures and sells sake, rice shochu and plum wine made from 100 % locally grown ingredients, etc. The brewery provides a tour that includes a video orientation covering about the sake manufacturing process, a visit to the brewery and the fermentation room, sake squeezing, etc. A variety of sake including limited editions are available for tasting and purchase on-site. Though this tour is in Japanese, there is an English audio guide and information booklet. Our guide, Kobayashi-San was also excellent, she was very accommodating of the fact that we didn't speak any Japanese, extremely patient, and so friendly! This is a large distillery, so it's fascinating to see inside the production and bottling facilities. The whole tour lasted about 45 minutes, followed by a tasting session. The gift shop also has some great items, including unique glasses.
