Bofferding

Discover Luxembourg’s terroir in an original way: Visit the National Brewery! Our guided tour will give you a wide overview of all the brewing stages of our famous "Bofferding" and "Battin" beers which became an historical success of a family owned business. During the tour you will be able to touch and smell the raw matierals, plus you'll get to taste the pureness of the water we brew our beer with. Our passionned guide will offer you a tasty surprise just before handing to our partner restaurant "An der Brauerei" next door to enjoy our special beer tasting. The visit of the National Brewery does not only ensure you a 100% natural beer, but also a discovery experience about the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's history and savoir-faire. And make sure to smile for the camera, a souvenir is always welcome!

We made the easy journey from Luxembourg to Bascharage via bus and enjoyed a drink in the brewers bar before the 3pm tour. We were fortunate enough that there were other English guests and so the guide conducted the tour in English. The tour was very interesting and informative, on the way around the site we were offered the chance to try the water the brewery pumps for the beer production, a sample of the unfiltered beer and a schnapps product all while learning the history and current practices. After the tour we returned to the bar for a tasting of 4 products (Bofferding Pils, Battin Gambrinus, Battin Blanche & Battin Fruitée). For €12 it was an excellent tour and very easy to reach from the city.

We had a tour and tasting in November and were welcomed with warm mulled cider- delicious! Paul was really welcoming and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our tour. We loved tasting the ciders, learning about apples and pears, the work being done to look after Luxembourg’s trees and orchards and also being introduced to the Quince. I had to leave by 3 and Paul happily opened up early to accommodate our group.
