Today the capital city and cultural center of Iowa is revitalized. A versatile destination everyone will enjoy, Des Moines has an itinerary for almost every interest. Culture and art enthusiasts may want to roam through the Des Moines Art Center, spend the weekend museum-hopping or attend a Broadway-caliber performance at the Civic Center. Golfers can spend their time and energy teeing up at any of the area's fine championship courses. The Blank Park Zoo and the Iowa State Fairgrounds should be on the list for families. And gardeners will savor the fantastic blooms at the Botanical Center and the Better Homes and Gardens Test Garden. Mix it up a little and sample all this "big city with a small town heart" has to offer.

1717 Brewing Company is a great place to have a drinks with friends. Inside, it’s cool and inviting and has a large “garage door” which provides a great open air feeling even when you’re inside. It also has plenty of seating inside as well as outside including a cool outside bar. Maybe not as many beer choices as bigger breweries but still adequate. I prefer dark beers and 1717 had some great dark options. Unfortunately, my wife is gluten free and was limited to just one option. Still overall, cool place with great beer and friendly, helpful staff. Definitely recommended. -The Power Trippers

Went with my sons (16 & 11). They had root beer. Locally made. Loved it. I tried a flight of 4 beers. It’s off the beaten path from Des Moines, but totally worth a visit. Clean facility & happy staff.

Peace Tree's Des Moines Branch Taproom in the historic East Village of Des Moines. With 24 taps, the Peace Tree Des Moines Branch is home to our diverse selection of ever-rotating, independent, craft beers. We aim to be a community center for great conversation, ideas, arts and culture. Whether its to try our beers, pair them with our local cheese & meat plates, be at one of our events, sporting activities, live music or trivia, we hope to see you soon!
Interesting building with plenty of space indoors and out. The beer selection included one of the most interesting beers I've ever had (Dark Sour) and possibly the worst beer I've ever had (Brett Corn) - it was an experience. The flights are ample at a total of 25 ounces. I'll be back!

Sidney is a rock star! We visited on a Friday evening that was busyier than usual (two functions.) When we approached the very busy counter saying we weren't with either group, but wanted to taste a few wines - Sidney stepped aside from the craziness to help us. We enjoyed several free tastings, then got glasses of wine to enjoy out on the beautifully manicured lawn. We completely enjoyed our visit and bought a bottle on our way out. The wine was wonderful with service and an atmosphere to match. I would definitely go back.
