Alaska is divided into five regions: far north, interior, southwest, south central, and inside passage. Although it takes a long time to see the entire state, you can travel through the regions by boat, car, bus, or plane. Hike through the mountains, or venture out on a deep sea fishing or whale watching excursion. Get in touch with nature by camping in the wilderness, or experience your preferred degree of class and luxury in the beautiful, active cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Port Chilkoot Distillery produces five local spirits, all handcrafted in the Southeast Alaskan town of Haines, at the upper end of the Inside Passage where the ocean meets the mountains. The distillery began in 2012 when owners Heather and Sean renovated an old bakery in a historical area of Haines called Fort William H. Seward. All spirits are thoughtfully made with high-quality ingredients including certified organic and non-GMO verified corn grown in Washington, featuring labels that represent the maritime culture and fishing town where we live and operate. Visitors from around the world journey to Southeast Alaska in search of unique, local experiences and find our distillery nestled in the historical town of Haines. They experience the craft of making and enjoying local products at our custom-built destination distillery, located conveniently above the cruise ship dock.

Alaska Berries was the first, and currently is the only, winery in the state that is certified as 100% Alaska Grown. We grow all of the fruit and berries used in the production of our handcrafted wines and jams. "From the bush to the bottle" allows us complete control of the entire process. This insures the highest quality fruit is picked at its peak of ripeness. Visiting our estate winery, you will see the care and consideration that is given to our farm and our unique wines. HOURS: Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 6pm. Winery is closed from 1 January through March 31.

We are a small craft distillery producing gin and American Single Malt whiskey. Swing by our tasting room to sample our gin (the whiskey is still aging) and try a cocktail featuring our spirits.
I absolutely adore gin and when I see an off the beaten track distillery in Juneau Alaska I simply must head right on in. I was not disappointed. The gin is flavourful using loads of botanicals only found in Alaska. That should make it special but it is the hands of their master distiller that makes it shine. Buy a bottle but stop for a perfectly balanced cocktail before you leave. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food and travel fun.

Enjoy local brews and epic views of the Chugach mountains at Girdwood Brewing Company. We have a beautiful timber framed taproom adorned with local art and ski relics. For those who prefer the outdoors, there’s an awesome beer garden with fire pits and plenty of seating. We offer up four core beers and a series of rotating taps. Root beer, cold brew coffee, and kombucha are available for those looking for an alcohol free beverage. Tasters and 12 ounce pours are available to drink in the taproom. If you are looking for beer to go, we fill growlers, sell 5 gallon kegs, and have 4-packs of 16 ounce cans with labels designed by Alaskan artists (for sale in the taproom only). Food trucks are on-site every day, and we have cool merchandise for you to take home. Girdwood Brewing Company is truly rooted in our community.
