This is the inner place to go if you are interested in looking at how people sell Jade and buy it. the locals come in with bags of Jade bracelets and wholesalers value them and buy them. they are not really interested in selling stuff to you but they will if you find interesting stuff. we got some interesting Rock samples...not sure of their actual value...good idea to look on a web site as you look to get a price. At airport interestingly hard to get on the plane and actually need an export certificate from some of the sellers. luckily the customs officer let us take ours out of the country.

This market is huge and its energy is enormous. All kinds of food in abundance. Traffic. Noise. Smells. All sorts of people. Young and old. Men and Women. Buddhists, Muslims and Christians. Endless selling and buying. If you want to see and feel what Burmese life is and has been like since a long time you have to go there.

The market is huge, the shops close down at 5 p.m. and the whole market is closed on Mondays. If you are looking for fabrics in good quality and at very good prices, you are in the right place. I must admit, that fabrics in Myanmar are slightly more expensive than in Vietnam or India, but still cheap compared to Europe. The quality and colours of cotton, silk... I really liked it! The rest of shops are mostly with jewellery, jade and souvenirs, which I wasn´t interested in so I cannot evaluate.
