I met a wonderful cashier called Jacky. I had had the most dreadful week, suffering two seizures, with subsequent severe head injuries, to then fall from an electric scooter, breaking three ribs and tearing all the muscles in my left leg and groin. There was first a super chap (whose name I gave forgotten - apologies) who helped me on the cigarette counter and advised me that he would help me pack my shopping as my mobility has been severely impaired. I simply could not believe it when Jacky handed me a stunning bunch of flowers that I had actually thought very beautiful, but felt a tad extravagant to buy for myself. Out of interest, I asked for the price, whereupon Jacky told me that on behalf of Waitrose she would like to give them to me along with a sticker declaring it a lovely gift from her. I was extremely moved by this, and almost burst into tears. Instead, as I carried home (rather slowly) my beautiful flowers I found a beaming smile meet my lips, which had been a long time coming. Looking at them now, as I am forced to rest, it has made such a lovely difference to my room, and I just keep smiling. I found that service above and beyond that which you would receive in any other supermarket, and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I should also like Jacky to be praised for her warmth and kindness, empathic nature, and fantastic judgment call. It made my year. :-) Thank you so very, very much! Pinque Lawes

I love this market as it has a carboot,?(mostly covered,a covered market and an indoor antiques market. I have picked up some incredible bargains as well as food requirements. It has a proper Backsreet London feel with plenty of "geezers" selling there house clearance stuff who you can have a proper barter with as well as the shouty fruit and veg bloke pitching his prices.Bacon rolls and tea,no problem.Love it.
