Popular local village Pub 100m from the River Wye. Serving excellent real ale, cider and lager. Incorporating a Microbrewery, Lydbrook Valley Brewing Co. Brewing 2 traditional cask ales, Lydbrook Valley I.P.A and Viaduct Ale. Our latest addition is a keg
My brotherâs 60th birthday celebrations were well planned and we sent our menu choices a few days beforehand as requested by the restaurant. We neednât have bothered. Despite valiant efforts by the two waiting staff there was chaos in the service. All the mains were served over a 15 minute period and only then did start serving the rice and naans. Everything was cold by the time the complete meal arrived and even then the food was not very good. What was the reaction of the manager? To blame his customers and become loudly belligerent towards us, even though we were polite and respectful to him. I doubt very much that they will learn lessons from our experience and will find reasons to avoid changing their ways. We were going to spend the rest of the evening there but settled the bill and left. We avoided it the following day for Sunday lunch, preferring a 4 mile walk instead. Itâs just around the corner from the River Wye Lodge (a lovely place to stay) but donât bother to take your party here. It didnât spoil our weekend as it was so bad it was like we were cast adrift together!

It's never easy for me to eat anything (I have an eating disorder) so I had worked myself up to this. I ordered spring rolls, lemon chicken and chicken fried rice - just to have what I could manage. Sadly I was disappointed with even what my ED allowed me. The spring rolls were crispy (good thing) but lacked flavour and seasoning. They were well filled but just bland. The chicken fried rice was, again, lacking in flavour, seasoning and all I could taste was the rice. Don't get me wrong, it was well cooked, just lacking in what you'd expect. The same theme followed with the lemon chicken - there was the merest hint of lemon but that was it.Sad experience especially as it's likely my ED won't allow this to happen for months again, but if & when it does I sadly won't be able to return. Sorry.

Good food but the staff all look like they donât want to be there, they are polite but look clinically depressed.

Always friendly staff. Always tastes fresh. Portions In the salads could be a bit more generous, particularly if like me, you don't have it all. (Spytty subway gives bigger salad portions) That's my only slight constructive criticism. Apart from that. .lovely!

Stopped here on way home from Swansea to Birmingham. Plenty of easy free parking , Fuel at a fair price. Starbucks coffee very nice, staff friendly and efficient. BUT .. oh dear, the (gents) toilet facilities are disgraceful. two thirds of the cubicles taped up and out of order. Cracked and damaged sinks, again half of those were taped up and not in use and finally Not One of the four hand dryers was working. Disgusting and disgraceful ! As a quick stop for coffee . its just about OK, just hope that if you're a man you dont need a working toilet !!
Probably the best burger that I have ever tasted! Why? It is not part of a chain, the meat is local. Please support this local trader, it is in a different world, best of luck for the future.

Alas the previously excellent Seven Seas II has changed hands (and name, now the Priory St Chippy I think) and has gone dramatically downhill. Our recent visit was horribly disappointing. The service, while friendly enough was rather unprofessional. The food was served in polystyrene trays rather on plates and the food itself was very poor. The chips were greasy and tasted like the previous day's leftovers. The batter of the fish was thick and uncooked in places. We will not return.

I like it. A lot!Crispy duck comes pre-shredded, which is unusual, but convenient.Salt & pepper squid, yum yumCrispy chicken in Kung Po sauce has no hint of re-formed nugget material, real chicken, unlike increasing number of take-aways.Not everywhere does chicken, yellow bean sauce & cashew nuts, my favourite!Singapore noodles, Yeung Chow fried rice....LARGE portions, probably one of the reasons my kids call me "chubbo".Dammit - they are closed til 20th October......date is on my calendar, looking forward to it.

Whether you are looking for traditional Fish and Chips to take home or eat in Aslan's Fish Bar is ideal place to be. We are passionate cooking Fish and Chips and pride serving it. Fish is cook to order for the best taste, freshness and the quality. Call a
The portions were huge and good value for money, particularly the fish, which was better quality than you usually get in a chippie. Also loved the deep fried halloumi and there were quite a few other choices for vegetarians. The service was friendly and I was impressed how clean the place looked. Only lost a point for a couple of things, firstly the chips were a bit on the undercooked side, and it's annoying not to accept cash in this day and age.
