We took our kids for one of the tours on Saturday and it was an amazing experience! They got to learn about animals and farming, all in a fun environment while playing with goats. The owners were extremely friendly and amazing hosts. Highly recommend and don't forget to get some of the goat cheese!

My husband & I love to do wine tasting but having a toddler makes it difficult. We stumbled upon mountain mist farm winery & loved it. It was nice one of us could walk around the property with our son to keep him interested. This isn’t a commercialized winery like you’ll find on the main drag. Great wines, all made with fruit grown in their farm. The wine is $14.95/bottle. We bought 6, so John gave us $1.50/bottle off. They also offer jams, jelly’s & butter with fruit either grown on their farm or in the county. They were all $5.95 for 19-20oz. Jar. The biggest thing to know is they don’t take credit card! Check or cash only, so come prepared.

Grade A Dairy, Farm Store with farm fresh pastured raised meats, cheese, crocheted goats, handmade goat milk soap, lotion and fudge. Goat cuddling, visiting and feeding. Tour the whole 64 acre farm, see Cows/Calves, Pigs/Piglets, Goats and baby goats (kids). Learn about the cheese making process, see the milking parlor, Milk a adult goat by hand. Cheese and fudge tasting. Indoor baby goat nursery, chairs provided so you can sit with the baby goats and snuggle! Benches to sit on and a treat dispenser (25 cents) to feed baby goats some treats.
My family and I did the farm tour while we are visiting the area for Spring Break, and it was so fun!! So interesting, the animals are so cute and we learned so much. We got to cuddle the baby goats, brush llamas and more. These people really care about their animals and it was phenomenal to see. After the tour we were able to sample the cheeses, fudge and other products and we all loved every single thing we tried (including the pickiest eaters in our family). We are from Illinois and we were able to buy a cooler bag for our massive amounts of cheese, ice cream, fudge, caramels and soap that we bought. Cannot recommend this place enough if you are in the area. We are so sad we live so far and won’t be able to come back as soon as we hope to, but will have to plan another trip here in the future!

It's also more than just shopping too; it is an agriculture learning experience along with touring a one of a kind 10" round log home and learning about the importance of farming, too! There will be a farm tour showcasing the importance farmers take to be good stewards of the land.

I had no idea who Sam Davis was but knew he was in the Civil War upon reading about him so figured I would stop. There is free parking, reasonable prices for the tour, and friendly staff. There is a 15 minute movie you watch at the welcome center/museum before going on the house/grounds tour to learn about his history. The home and grounds are well preserved with most of the artifacts in the home belonging to the family. Well worth going even if you aren't a Civil War aficionado
