California is a fertile, peaceful place where you’ll find a near-equal balance of vineyards and deserts, beaches and mountains, hippies and traditionalists. Catch an epic wave in Big Sur or swirl a glass in Napa Valley. Be dazzled by the Joshua Tree night sky or just star-gaze in Hollywood. Swish down the slopes of a Tahoe ski resort, or cruise across the Golden Gate Bridge with the top down and the music blasting. Above all, don’t forget to soak up some Golden State sunshine.

I never would have known this if it were not for my friend who came here for a Photoshoot of the sunflower. As an alumni of Calpoly, I am glad that I shopped here to support the students. This store stocks a lot of fresh produces from the farms at Calpoly. I bought some fresh sweet corns here with this trip. The store also sells plants as well. They do have quite bit of selections. Next time, I will spend more time to explore their products. The area where the farm store is located is across from the campus. It’s surrounded by hills and farms. Beside the store, there is a nice sunflower farm here which is perfect for photoshoot. My wife and I came to take picture of the sunflower and the surroundings. This is the season to enjoy the blooming of the sunflowers. Next to the store is a vineyard. I felt like I was in Napa valley. I was really surprised with all the things to see here.

I was on a company incentive trip and this was listed as one of the options for an excursion. I always like to pick things that I normally wouldn't pay for if I was on vacation and this was a place I would have put in that category. The bus ride was about an hour from Santa Barbara which was a beautiful ride. When you pull into the facility you're pulling right into wash the barns and the horses and the round pens. Basically what you would consider a large but typical kind of horse farm. This farm is owned by Monty Roberts who has been training horses for a long long time. What he does is train unbroke horses to be able to have a rider get on within a very short amount of time by using techniques that make the horse trust what you're doing. Today we were there the owner of a horse was there at the facility videotaping the process. Within 22 minutes he had one of his writers on that horse without a single buck. The owner of the horse was nearly in tears. This visit wasn't about him training a horse, it was about life in general and how getting people to perform at their highest level without forcing anything out of them. This really was a life lesson not a horse lesson. After this was over he allowed us up to his house where they had cooked an unbelievable lunch for us and set in his backyard overlooking the entire valley and his ranch. The entire experience was unbelievable and something I will never forget and I would encourage anyone to see what it's like.

When traveling through the Death Valley area consider visiting beautiful China Ranch, near Tecopa California. China Ranch is a family owned and operated small farm, a lush piece of greenery amidst the forbidding Mojave Desert near Southern Death Valley. Imagine towering cottonwoods and willows by a wandering stream, date palms and abundant wildlife, all hidden away in some of the most spectacular scenery the desert has to offer. The Ranch is also rich in history. The Old Spanish Trail is within walking distance, as is the historic Tonopah & Tidewater railroad bed. Hike to nearby abandoned mines if you wish, or just relax and browse through our store. We offer several varieties of California dates as well as our own hybrids. Try some delicious date nut bread, muffins or cookies, or take home one of our unique hand-crafted gifts. If you are interested in learning more about the wildlife, plants or history of the area, try one of our interpretive guided nature walks. Learn about the geology, botany, birds, and early man in the area. The Old Spanish Trail comes alive again and much more. Visiting China Ranch can be a wonderful one day adventure or highlight of any trip to Death Valley. We are not a resort or tourist development, but rather a working family farm in a truly unusual setting.
China Ranch is a jumping off place for a great hike. The hike features magnificent scenery, a great slot canyon and a waterfall. After the hike, stop in at the visitor's center, featuring crafts, local honey, Ranch grown dates, and home made date bread, muffins and cookies. Cool off with the "out of this world" date shake, rich and thick and delicious. Then tour the actual date palm groves and see how the dates are grown. I can't recommend this enough!

We had lunch, wine and olive oil tasting on a Friday afternoon the view was so lovely in the valley enjoying the olive trees. Truly the best olive oil I've ever had anywhere in the world! The lavash sandwiches they offered were quite amazing too ... dipped in their olive oil! I've always been a fan of their products so coming out to the ranch was a bit of excuse to also do a bit of shopping too! We got olive oil and bath products. I love McEvoy Ranch and next time in Petaluma, we'll be there for sure!

Emma Prusch Farm Park is 43.5 acres, has restrooms, 35 picnic tables, and 5 BBQs
We have been to Emma Prusch Farm Park a number of times. The park is lots of fun. There is an international rare fruit orchard to see. There are lots of roosters and chickens. There is a very nice playground for children. it was sad that the barn no longer has the variety of animals it used to have; there was one goat. We like walking in the park. its a good place to visit.

They are so knowledgeable and helpful ,and when we asked what else was around there , they were able to direct us to other great places! I love their little store and the food was great! We ordered the pulled pork sandwiches, tritip sandwiches and some hot dogs. All of it was delicious! The botanical garden you can walk with a lake and a floating dock you can walk on and look at the fish swimming and ducks floating around. We had such a wonderful relaxing day. I reccomend.

My daughters are both under 10 and they fave our visit to the Oasis Camel Dairy 5 stars. They enjoyed being able to feed and pet the camels and also being able to feed and pet the sheep. It’s also a lot of fun for the parents and very informative. We appreciate the Oasis Staff spending time with us!
