The Otago Farmers Market delivers the very best of what the region produces every Saturday morning rain, hail or shine. Situated beside the historic Dunedin Railway Station up to 75 vendors sell a delicious range of fruit, vegetables, meats, eggs, bread, cheese, condiments and yummy breakfast and brunch options including great coffee.
Highly recommended if you're in Dunedin over the weekend (opened every Saturday from 8-12:30 and once the country lock down is lifted). Located right beside the iconic Railway station you can pick fresh fruit, veg, meat and flowers. We got some cheap strawberries, blueberries and apples. The real find was the giant salmon we purchased for only $12. Chinese woman before us was trying to barter by offering $10...didn't realize southeast Asia rules of trade don't apply in NZ. My wife got ingredients like onion and garlic to cook the salmon back at our hostel. **there is a truck that sells good souvenirs. Be sure to get your free magnet.

A popular weekly farmers market held every Friday morning from 9am til 12.30pm. Only 20 minutes from Christchurch. The market operates in all weather all year round. Our market supports over 50 local food producers and growers. Visitors mingle with the locals to get the best of the freshest breads, organic veges and seasonal fruits, coffee, hot brunch selections, artisan products, fish, beer, wine, plants and flowers. Winter is a busy market and summer is huge. Ohoka is a country market located in the domain. It is popular so expect to walk a short distance on busy days. Childrens playground, toilets and EFTPOS available.
I generally go on a Friday stat day and ventured there around 10am on show day in November. The place was busy and had plenty of great stalls selling all sorts of things such as baking, Olive Oil, wine, vegetables, seedlings, meat, Eggs, fruit, exotic mushrooms, cheese, olives, nuts, etc etc. Also there are several craft stalls and several food trucks serving a variety of different styles of food. If you are in the area on a Friday morning then it is definitely worth a visit particularly on a Stat day.

Very walkable with lots of tasty lunch options plus honey, venison sausages, high quality cheeses, flowers, veg & fruits. I actually liked that it wasn’t enormously big. Lovely park setting.

Local Fruit and Vege Growers, Local Artisan Food Producers, and Local Craftspeople gather together every Sunday morning from 9.30 to 1.30, rain, hail or shine. A great place for lunch. We have several Asian foodstalls as well as typical Kiwi fare. We are indoors if the weather is wet or windy, otherwise we are outside in the carpark of the spectacularly beautiful Southland Masonic Centre. Built in 1926, with a magnificent interior and exterior, it is freestanding and sits in an elevated position. Constructed in Brick and Concrete the buildings restrained facade includes a plain parapet and cornice atop some bold fluted doric columns. The lodge by its siting and architectural splendour is a highly significant building and is Listed as a category 1 Historic Place.

The Wanaka Farmers & Gardeners Market was established as a venue for local gardeners and producers to grow a village style market. Through the years it has expanded and today remains one of the few farmers markets in the country to be held the year round. The Thursday market also now boasts arts and crafts. With visitors ranging from local regulars, to newcomers discovering amazing local goodies.
Yummy food and welcoming stall holders. Stalls include food and also local arts and crafts. Enjoyed the experience
