No visit to Ortigia would be complete without a visit to it's bustling market. Fresh fish, vegetables and fruit cram the tightly packed stalls and at one end there is also clothing and at the other a small bar where you can have a coffee or a beer or even breakfast or lunch. Allow at least a couple of hours.

Fascinating street market that meanders on and on through the streets of Palermo. From Soup to Nuts and including the Kitchen Sink. Vegetables...meats...fish...spices...and almost everything else. Many of the vendors are loudly hawking their goods to the passers by in a very entertaining fashion. the sight and smells are captivating. One of the highlights of my three week stay in Sicily.
