We are located in the historic center of Harderwijk within walking distance of the Grote Markt, the old Town Hall, the City Beach and the Boulevard. We have been inspired by modern Parisian bistros: long benches, inner terrace, jazz & lounge, fine wines a
food nicely done - no overproduction - good wine choices - pleasant, efficient service - you get what you pay for (and expect) - nice low-key, relaxing atmosphere

compared to previous visits disappointing. We visited Feb 4th to celebrate my upcoming birthday. Nicely crowded, so glad we made reservations. The white dry house wine, my wife ordered really was not good. We all tasted and had the same opinion. I was slightly later, ordered a bottle of white wine. another waitress came to the table telling she was sorry that the wine I ordered was not cold so she brought another bottle. Funny thing is that the bottle she brought in fact was the bottle I ordered. Staff- miscommunication?? that wine was good. We all had entries, Fish soup (Gumbo) which was just okay; Crazy and Crispy , baked Mushrooms which were not as good as expected.Main course i had, Fish del Mar was also not as expected. structure and taste of the fish were disappointing. Even the desert i had could not convince me.Not sure whether we will return. did not say this before. A pity. This time price/quality was unbalanced.

The beach bar has a lovely relaxed vibe, situated just alongside the river. Thereâs plenty of room to and drink both inside and outside, with a sensibly priced, tasty menu. Sadly the kitchen and the bar close at 6pm - if only theyâd open in the evening!

Using the Groupon for a dinner at the restaurant was certainly an experience. Groupon is generally a nice way for patrons to try new places and hopefully return after the dining experience because you enjoyed it. First of all the Groupon was for â¬29,99 which included a starter, main dish and a dessert. Drinks were not included (which is typical using Groupon.) The restaurant is right on the harbor and just a short distance from Harderwijk even though the address is Zeewolde. I was a bit disappointed in the interior of the restaurant because the normal price of the 3 course dinner for 2 would have been â¬71,50 so I was expecting a bit more. It is not fancy and I must even say a bit dated and shabby. There were few choices for starters, main dish and desserts. The food did come hot and nicely presented. For starters we had the carpaccio and the salmon. The portions were very small and but nicely presented. For the main course we each had the sliptong (3 fried fish) that were served with about 6 small rounds of potatoes , one asparagus spear (cut in half) and a tablespoon of tiny chopped vegetables. We also ordered an extra portion of French fries, which I am glad we did. The dessert was supposed to be a chocolate surprise and was not disappointment because it was exactly that. There was one small dollop of strawberry ice cream one strawberry cut in half that was next to 3 drops of lemon curd, a blob of whipped cream and a small chocolate lava cake right out of the freezer but nicely warmed. Not sure what the hype was over the chocolate surprise because it was more of what was left in the kitchen. We were very disappointed that the meal took over 2 hours (and they were not even busy.) It was very obvious that the chef was more interested in presentation then in customer satisfaction. I am not sure but if you are trying to make this a Michelin Star restaurant you have a long way to go. There is little ambiance that would get the Michelin rating and just because it took over 2 hours to dine doesnât make it so. There was also a mix-up using Groupon when we were presented the bill as the server did not know how to ring it up and had charged us for the portion we had already paid directly to Groupon. We were actually feeling bad for her as she was obviously upset over the entire thing. We had to explain it to her and tell her how to do it. We would like to say shame on the owners for not telling a new server how to ring the Groupon dinners up. We were not the only ones dining and using Groupon and we spoke to another group outside who had basically the same feelings we did. Sorry to say I donât think you put your best foot forward Hardersluis for a great dining experience.

The restaurant is nicely located on the beach, with a big terrasse but also a nice indoor space. We went there for a meal after having stopped by the day before for drinks. They have a good choice of meals but the menu is only in dutch which is not easy for non-speakers. We had to wait some time before getting our orders taken but staff is really nice, caring and we were quickly served following ordering.

RATATOUILLE In our restaurant we like our guests to enjoy and have a good time together, whether they come together for each others companionship, and enjoy delicious drinks and relish, also with the dishes on the table that are shared, called "Sharing Di
Some of us might remember the Disney film of the same name and the play of words between Remy (the Rat) and Ratatouile (the one vegetable stirred up dish)where the rodent faces the challenge of becoming a chef, while pleasing the food critic , is memorable. This story has proved irresistible to restauranteurs and the Restaurant Ratatouille in Harderwijk,a Hanseatic Town in Holland,is one such manifestation. Located in the historic Vischmarkt square of the Oude Town, the place is the brainchild of Wim Zwaart (Masterchef) and Tina Zwaart (Vinologist) and has undergone extensive redesign opening up spaces at different levels, affording views of the modern kitchens and providing various private seating arrangements. While Restaurant Ratatouille is open only for dinner and Sunday brunchthe extensive menu and wines draws clientele both far and near to its doors. The prices at this possibly the best restaurant in the area are high as befits the high standards set and no one is complaining. The tradition of Ratatouille is in good hands.

To finish our midweek short trip in Gelderland we chose for De Basiliek because they has a nice offer with Heerlijk.nl.A 5 dish lunch which was enjoyed with an excellent Viognier. All dishes were something special. They first appearance is beautiful. The first taste is nothing special, but when you combine its ingredients it appears that the chef knows what he is doing. Complex taste and beautiful presentation is a trademark for this restaurant. Only point of criticism is that the portions are too small......but do not let you be withhold to go over here, because they may be small but are certainly outstanding at a very reasonable price .... as long as it lasts. ( eur. 39,50)

Happily ever after at Hans & Grietje During a visit to the Hans & Grietje restaurant in Zeewolde guests from all over the world can taste delicious Dutch homemade pancakes whilst enjoying an interactive experience inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairytales
The theming is fab, loads for kids to look at. My 18m old loved the moving clock. Watch out for the shower near the entrance. Slides down to a basement playroom, so cool for kids. The place is overrun with kids so dont go as just an adult party wanting a quiet pancake!Outside playground is cool. Amazing slide and some tunnels with dioramas in. Could definitely make a day of it here. Book in advance online.

Pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the service but definitely the food. I loved the Gemisto Psaronefri, Dolmadaki, Bifteki Gemisto and for dessert; the chefs specialty layered chocolate (forgot the name, sorry!). We found this restaurant via the AH promotion but would definitely eat again some time. Despite the place packed on a Wednesday afternoon the service was prompt and the kitchen still managed reasonable waiting times.

Whilst staying at the nearby Centreparcs we came to this restaurant for dinner. Midweek the restaurant was able to accommodate a party of 8 without a reservation, and we browsed the menu. A few of us chose pasta dishes, along with the children's build your own pizza. The table service was fast and friendly. But there were a few empty tables so staff to customer ratio may not be as good when they're full. All of the food was well presented, and we all enjoy our choices. The food and drinks may be higher priced than you may expect for Holland, but there's a sort of captive market here with the resort, so it really shouldn't be a suprise.. You don't have to eat here!If you'd like a nice meal and can venture 10 minutes walk from the centre of the park, then try this restaurant in the harbour!
