We had a very enjoyable lunch at George's recently to celebrate a family birthday - the atmosphere was very relaxed, food was excellent (fish was the best I'd tasted for a long time), and the staff were very attentive - our waiter especially made a huge effort (I think his name was Cameron but apologies if this is wrong), making sure that we had everything we needed on a regular basis, especially as we had a toddler with us. The birthday girl received a free cocktail which was a lovely touch as well. The big surprise, given the quality of the food and venue was the price which we felt was very reasonable. We will definitely be back and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family :-)

About Us Welcome to JS Restaurant JS is the oldest kosher restaurant in Manchester, our reputation for quality food and good service has grown and grown over the years from our humble beginnings in 1956 to a restaurant which can now cater for over 150 din
This place had a makeover a year or so ago, following a fire, and it looks only slightly different now. Iâm not sure that the changes are for the better, as the benches and chairs make it look more like a cafe (as opposed to a restaurant) now. The menu has also changed quite a bit - itâs more restricted now, and it has more of a Middle eastern feel than a traditional kosher feel. In other respects, though, itâs still the same: you still get service that floats between unfussy (on the edge of surly) and helpful, and the waitresses were particularly good at advising my son on the kidsâ portions and helping him to decide whether to order from the kidsâ menu or from the adultsâ (and offering to adapt the latter to suit him). The best bit, as ever, was the food, with large portions as usual: good, hot chicken soup (although a bit too salty), and good teriyaki chicken (with the customary excellent chips); the lamb was good too (a huge portion), and my son was very happy with both his burger and his hot dog. The desserts were a bit disappointing, with the description of the chocolate explosion somewhat over-selling the rich, distinctly unchocolately product that arrived. The least impressive bit was that there wasnât a lock on the gentsâ loo - with only one male loo facility (no urinals), it really isnât good enough to expect occupants to sit (or stand) there knowing that some unwitting other customer might walk in at any time. This restaurant of course corners the market, but it wouldnât take much to convert it from being a decent place to a very good place. As it is, thereâs a just a bit too much of taking the clientele for granted for me to be truly evangelical about it.

Autentico, rustico, organico Locally sourced Food - Due Amica Cucina Italiana, we convey the spirit of Italian flavors to the fore in all that we do, from excellent created beverages to our conventional pastas and risottos, we utilize the freshest, regula
We visited Due Amici twice in the last month for family meals and on both occasions enjoyed a wonderful dining experience... The menu is varied and offers everything you could wish from an Italian ie varied starters & garlic/tomato breads, pastas, pizzas, steaks & other meat dishes, fish dishes, and tasty desserts... The wine menu is also brilliant, plus there is also a cocktail menu... food & drinks prices are what you would expect for the top Italian restaurant in the area... The staff are welcoming & friendly and waiters/waitresses outstanding & attentive... amazing service... plus the restaurant has plenty of seating to cater for both couples and large parties... The food & service are what makes this place so popular... we highly recommend Due Amici to all and will be back!

Itâs not always about the food, youâve got to provide great service as well! Luckily this place has got it all. From the moment we walked in we were looked after, the staff had a great sense of humour and were very happy to stop and chat as well as make recommendations on what we should try. Food was excellent , well prepared and presented superbly. There wasnât a bad choice on the menu but have a go at the meatballs they were just fantastic.

A bizarre layout eating in the food preparation area, the advantage was we saw the food being cooked. Although we received a warm welcome and the service was reasonable, the food was very disappointing.Sirloin steak was pretty chewy, and the Christmas dinner was comprised of Turkey from a roll, and not freshly carved Turkey. We also did not expect vegetables from the microwave. Value for money the place is expensive, the bill being a lot more than some of the top Manchester restaurants. Certainly won't be gracing this establishment again. As you probably gather from the majority of our reviews we love trip advisor but it unfortunately does give unqualified people a platform to critique restaurants, the turkey you saw from your ringside seat was in fact a large turkey breast, readily used in restaurants throughout the uk, we cook all our vegetables daily and refresh them in ice cold water, using a microwave, an item of equipment also readily used in modern restaurants, to bring them back to temperature when needed. As for your steak you could have said something when I asked you personally was everything ok and we could possibly have had a better resolution, however I am sorry you found your well done steak chewy. In most walks of life a lack of knowledge by so called experts can be dangerousRob

visited here 03/11 for some Sunday morning Brunch receptionist was very friendly and so were the staff I ordered duck hash which was lovely, my girlfriend ordered the avocado on toast. When she received it her poached eggs were quite cold She told the waiter and he immediately asked if she wanted replacement eggs or a fresh meal. She asked for a fresh mean and it came back in about 5 mins with piping hot eggs. very good service I think you can tell a good resteraunt by the way they deal with complaints Not been to Alberts for a while, but I am going to make more of an effort to get there in the future. we are lucky to have such a good bar / resteraunt on our doorstepsHi Paul T, thank you so much for writing into us with this lovely review, we pride ourselves on creating unforgettable customer service experience and it really makes the teams day when we relay you positive feedbackThank you again for writing in to us and really hope to welcome you back in again soon.Just because we think you may find it of interest, we are holding a Christmas Market Fate on Sunday 15th December with loads of little local business and we will be putting on Christmassy mini treats and mulled wines etc we think you would love this. Have passed the Lugana several times and never really thought about going in as from the outside it's not very imposing. Finally succumbed and are glad we did. We both ordered their Italian style fillet steaks and they were fabulous. Good choice of wine and lagers too. The staff were very helpful and always ready to help. Will come again for sure.Thank you very much for your lovely review and the kind words,, I really appreciate them. I am glad that you decided to give us a try and that you enjoyed our steaks . I look forward to welcoming you soon again. Best regards. Marco
