Great find, friendly staff, excellent food, great location, fish is delivered daily although on a couple of occasions we booked late on and they were out of certain choices. On the whole a nice place to eat or just chill out with a wine by the lakeHallo John!Thank you very much for your commentary on tripadviser! We are very happy that you enjoyed your meals in our restaurant.

such a nice place to be,it can be easily reached by car or on foot and it offers a great view of the mountains.Excellent Tyrolean food, beware of huge portions.A must is the Deli shop where one can buy cheese made on site and tasty products (bacon0from the local butcher.Nice and efficient service provided
Gute Speisen, freundlicher Service, herrlicher Blick

Whilst on holiday in Walchsee village the Ottenalm hut is one we always go to.It is possible to get to the hut by vehicle but it is on mountain roads, but really the only way to go is to walk there. From the village there are two paths that get to the hut, one is on what is classed as a red route and therefore more strenuous whilst the other makes use of the road and track. The track is wide but in parts steeper than others but once you get to the hut it is worth it with stunning views down the valley. There is a large outdoor dining area as well as an inside one. The staff are always friendly. The food is typical German rustic fare but is always well cooked and the beer or whatever you drink tastes all the better for the exercise in getting there. On my last visit I had the Wiener Schnitzel which was one of the best I have had and the apple pie was sensational. From here you can make your way back down to the village or continue to other huts on the paths linking them.
Super !!!

I have been disappointed sometimes with eating out in Austria as the snitzel is expensive and reminds me of nuggets and chips! However this lovely restaurant gives a great set menu (no choice however) and the rest of the a la carte is very reasonable. We ate there twice during our saty in this lovely village

This cafe is blessed by its location right on the edge of the lake (see). On a summers day you can sit for hours on the decking just savouring the view with the occasional coffee, wine or beer to pay for your seat! My wife and I enjoyed lunching at the cafe, but lingered for a lot longer than intended being mesmerized by the view and atmosphere on a beautiful summers afternoon.I enjoyed a curry-wurst, which was nothing special but very reasonable at 5.90 euro whilst my wife enjoyed a sumptuous ice-cream treat. There is a spacious car-park just across the road and the cafe sits on the path around the lake allowing you to walk off the calories you have just eaten. Perfect!

I have been to this restaurant numerous times over recent year. It used to be called Milano's. The food was great and the staff were brilliant. The restaurant now has new owners and has lost its personality. The food was good but the place lacked something other than a bit of interaction with the staff.

Heartly Welcome to Postgasthof Fischerwirt! Our traditional Inn offers a cosy tyrolean atmosphere in the heart of the village Walchsee Tyrol. Thomas Dreher prepares all dishes with love and pampers your taste buds with fresh, homemade Tyrolean Specialitie
A very Austrian restaurant with traditional cuisine . Quite reasonably priced with large portions . Some very "different dishes " for instance boiled veal tongue and veal heart and lung ragout . But don't worry there are steak and pork dishes too. Loved the garlic soup!
