Jantar Apenas Mediante Reserva. Dinner Only By Reservation. Dîner Seulement Sur Reservation.
We stopped in after visiting Casa de Mateus for a quick bite. Since they were closing for the season the had limited options but the ham and cheese sandwich was perfect as was the coffee. The owner and his wife were very helpful in giving advice on where to go and where to eat. Obrigado pelo Vosso comentário. Tratamos os clientes sempre da mesma maneira , só comendo sandwich, ou almoçando . Boas fériasPaulo

Great place to enjoy the best Francesinha in Vila Real, with friends, family or even alone! Beers and of course wine from Douro Valley are a part of the list... try and enjoy!!

Chaxoila Casa de Pasto lets you experience the regional specialities with great local produce, in a relaxed and cared for atmosphere. Visit us during summer and enjoy the terrace! Or meet us in winter and have a tasty meal in the glass room.

We passed a very pleasant evening at Bons Tempos, sitting in the garden to the rear of this evidently popular restaurant. An excellent choice of wines, to accomapny a wide choice of traditional Portuguese cooking. The staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining some of the dishes, and the ambience was great. Very good value for money. When we next visit Vila Real we will have no hesitation in eating here.

Nice atmosphere, nicely decorated, and delightful server who spoke good English.Unfortunately the food and drink were a disappointment. Compared with other restaurants in big and small towns in Portugal where I have eaten well, this one is way below them all. I ordered a port branca (white) which was very low quality compared with what I have had in other places. The starters --- the wine soaked sausage was delicious. But the olives were straight from a can (I think they dumped the whole can in a bowl and served it to me) --- and the server admitted they were canned. I ordered a cod dish which was okay for what it was --- a few chunks of boiled cod, a lot of mashed potatoes, cabbage, and more canned black olives. They do not sell wine by the glass, and they only had one type of half bottle of red and it was terrible --- I had a few sips, but it did not improve with air or with food. I did not take a chance on dessert.

Came to this restaurant for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner, as we were staying in nearby Casa da Levada. We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff was kind enough to give us a table. There was a lot of choice in the menu, and the food and drinks were all very good prices. We ordered a few tapas to share and they were quite good. I would’ve given this four stars, but unfortunately the service was very slow, and while I understand they were busy, we noticed some tables that the staff were familiar with were being served very quick. I would still recommend this restaurant for the food though, especially the baked Camembert.

This is the only restaurant in the district of Vila Real that has authentic Italian food. The owners and cooks received their training in Napoles and it shows. The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. There is a large variety of pizzas and pastas that would make even an Italian be pleased with the taste. It really is a breath of fresh air in Vila Real. The only negative is the small space and limited number of tables, which can sometimes make it difficult to find a place. Nevertheless, I highy recommend it.Thanks for your opinion. We love to have the better satisfation whit our clients.

Typical Portuguese dishes cooked as a fine cuisine. Even being a little expensive for a restaurant at Vila Real, when compared with other cities it would be difficult to eat so well by that price. I truly recommend the Maronês and the mousse de amêndoa as desert. I will definitely come back to cais da villaDear Sérgio G, Thank you for your visit and for your comment. we appreciate your kind words. In CAISDAVILLA we do everything to please each costumer and to create genuine flavours, in order to provide moments to be later remembered. :) We look forward to welcome you again soon.Thank you, the team CAISDAVILLA

A voltar e voltar!! Recomendo vivamente.

The Loja do Covilhete de Vila Real is a restaurant space located in the historical center of Vila Real, made up of two floors, where the Covilhetes, a of minced beef pies that are so popular and representative of Vila Real cuisine, are the main attraction
Just had dinner at the Loja do Covilhete. The restaurant is very cozy and modern (apparently it only opened recently). The menu is just amazing and out of the 12 different "petiscos" (tapas) we ordered everything has exceeded our expectations.I do recommend the Covilhete de Vila Real (typical local meat pastry). The menu just leaves water in the mouth, with an extensive range of Samosas, Peixinhos da Horta (Green Beans covered in eggs), etc... The Pica Pau was top notch and so is the Montalegre Wine...amazing attitude wine from the Tras-Os-Montes region.I couldn't expect any more and can just highly recommend to everyone visiting Vila Real to visit this place...We where a group of four and ended up staying until midnight.Mario, the owner is also a great host. This place is a MUST!
