Caché dans la ruelle de la table ronde à Vienne, ALQUIMIA propose une cuisine traditionnelle travaillée. Producteur locaux, produit frais , qualité sont au rendez-vous dans les assiettes. N'hésitez pas a demandez conseil !!!
We so enjoyed Mathildeâs warm welcome and her personal attention to details! The appetizers (carrot tempura with a crunchy pâté bite and later, tartare of tomato) were tasty and whimsical. Horatioâs combination of texture, flavor, and color for every dish we sampled was striking (foie gras, poached egg with fourme dâAmbert, squab with polenta and girolles, burbot with an amazing sauce with tender fennel). The results were amazing and we only wish we could stay longer in Vienne to be able to go back! Merci!

Popular and busy, especially at weekends, so booking is essential at this gem of a bistrot. Located in a quiet back street in the centre of Vienne, the outside appearance belies the quality of service and cuisine. Tables are available outside but the inside arrangement of tables in front of a fireplace and on a mezzanine is more convivial. The main room is easily accessible for disabled clients.Menus are available at â¬15.50 (except Sundays), â¬25 & â¬35 as is à la carte. Our â¬25/head family meal began with aperitifs at café prices and an amuse bouche of a delicate melon and ginger gaspacho; our entrées included curry flavoured rillettes of mackerel and new potatoes stuffed with snails and served with a Mesclun salad. Both were perfectly prepared and the snail stuffed potatoes were a delightful discovery. Mains included rosemary flavoured hake with a tomato couli served with artichokes and glazed onions or herb encrusted duck breast with a port jus and vegetables. Again, both were cooked to perfection!! The only slight disappointment was that the cheese selection, which attracted a â¬2.50 supplement, came as three local cheeses served on a plate rather than giving the diners the option of a choice from a cheeseboard. Having said that, the cheeses were spot on. Alternatively, fromage blanc was also available. The desserts, Crème Brûlée aux Noix, Caramel fondant or a selection of home-made ice creams and sorbets rounded of the meal ideally. The wines, mainly locally sourced, were of excellent quality and reasonably priced.I visit Vienne a lot and wonder why this is the first time I've been here - I'll certainly be back soon. If in Vienne on a Saturday, do visit the large street market in the morning and wind up here for lunch - leave the Roman antiquities for the afternoon, they'll still be there!!!

Il est important de prendre en compte que l'établissement a été vendu et de ce fait vient de changer de propriétaire
Excellent place for any kind of steak. The plate's quality is high including the "gratin". Prices are right and the service ok. This place will be home along next week for dinner.

Ate here this evening on recommendation from our hotel. the Maitre is just fantastic, so welcoming, helpful and with a lovely sense of humour. We had the Criques, fillet steak and Foie gras. Both to die for, and every plate that came out looked magnificent. if you are in Vienne definitely worth a visit.

Staying at La Pyramid, we wanted to try the Michelin 2 star restaurant. Unfortunately, our stay was on a Wednesday, the only night the restaurant is closed So we opted for their bistro restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised. While the menu is simple (every food and wine category follows the "rules of 3", i.e. 3 appetizers, 3 mains, 3 deserts, etc.) every dish was very well prepared, the portions were very generous and the prices were low. The Michelin 2 star heritage clearly came across in the quality of ingredients, presentation, and preparation. No, the food was not gourmet (and bistro food is not supposed to be), but it was great in every way. Service too, was competent and friendly

Really ticked all boxes. I had a quick lunch in this restaurant before catching a train and wasn't disappointed. Opted for faux filet a point and got a very juicy and deliciius piece of meat with french fries and mushed potatoes. This plus tomato juice and a cup of coffee brought my chech to 23.5 euros, quite reasonable and less expensive I would pay for the same quality in Lyon. Definetely will come here again in one of my next visits to Vienne.Thank you very much ! We are so glad you liked it... Looking forward to see you again at Le Coin du BÅuf ;-)
