I've eaten here a million times over the last ten years. I've never been disappointed. It's like going home to your mom's kitchen. Wholesome food, nicely served, the guys in the kitchen do a great job, which makes it so much easier for the frontline staff to turn out happy diners. Good menu, good variety, good prices, morning, noon or night. A homely atmosphere. Viby, cosy, but tables not on top of each other. Efficient, a sense of urgency, a willingness to please. Amazing how many goals you score when the backs and the forwards play in sync. Highly recommended.

Tsogo Sun - How could you put Maritimo's Restaurant and all its wonderful Staff on the street like this after so many years at Cabana Beach!!??This restaurant has been a favourite of ours and many of our friends for ages and the staff and managers exemplary! Why???????As substantial owners of units at Cabana Beach you owe us your "shareholders " and explanation or reversal of this cruel act.Allan and Cathy Baartram

Fantastic friendly service, veg platter was very good and tasty, rump was supposed to be medium but was a little under done so left a bit that was just not nice, lamb chops were very tasty, had to send back to sear a bit more as under done, would prefer a little more veg with the meal given the price, baklava was amazing... Superb. We enjoyed the meal overall and the staff, maybe just feel like it was just a bit over priced for what we got.

My husband and I had the pleasure to have lunch at Angeloâs on Tuesday, 9 April 2019 during our holiday in Umhlanga Rocks. We were warmly welcomed and chose a table inside. The restaurant boasts a romantic, inviting and up-market ambiance. It also boasts Italian flair. The lunch menu boasts a variety of dishes which is the same as the dinner menu but smaller portions in some cases and is excellent value for money. We had a bottle of Buitenverwagting Buiten Blanc which we thoroughly enjoyed. It is also worth to mention that the sparkling water they serve (aqua v) is absolutely delicious. We respectively had the cheesy focaccia, beef carpaccio, sweet chilli prawns and Alfredo pasta. All the dishes were prepared using fresh ingredients and tasted delicious. Compliments to the chef! Our waiter was very friendly and unobtrusive. The friendly manager also came to our table to inquire if we were satisfied with our meal and we had a delightful conversation. It was our first meal at Angeloâs in all the years (14) on our annual holiday in Umhlanga Rocks but it will certainly not be our last.

Good atmosphere and great service from waiter (Musa) , the prawn dish prepared at the table by the talented chef was delicious but the steak fillet was dry and warm.(Not sure if this is standard restaurant pricing but a 60R glass of wine seemed pricey when compared to the exact same wine at the supermarket for 65R/bottle)Dear Theog751Thank you kindly for taking the time to complete a trip advisor review regarding your recent visit to our Sugar Club Restaurant.Your feedback is most appreciative and will be pass on to the team. Upmarket venue for that special dinner, tasteful decor with well trained waitrons. Suggest that reservation is made as I have been there on week nights and always well supported.
Lovely ambiance, sitting upstairs on the balcony on a balmy spring evening. We had fantastic salads to start, and my wife's main course of seared tuna was delicious. Unfortunately my 400g rump was most disappointing. It was as if it had been cooked on a coldish grill. It was a bit grey and tough, not the seared outside and pink and juicy inside one expects. I ordered a pepper sauce which helped somewhat. This was a pity because overall the evening was great !

Grill Room at the Oyster Box Hotel.
Thereâs an old fashioned elegance to the Grill Room â the chandelier, the starched linen, the waiters dressed in their very retro uniforms. Even the menu includes what you wished were more universal timeless classics. One was something definitely out of fashion in the UK â an hors dâoeuvres trolley. We couldnât recall seeing one in the last 40 years â it was a meal with my father (and he died in 1975). We did remember how good they were. And this was an absolute cracker. There must have been at least 20 different salads, meats and seafood to choose from. Another retro things was the sorbet that arrived next â lychee and pineapple, although both flavours were very muted. We followed that with another classic â chateaubriand â one of the items on the âGueridon trolley serviceâ section of the menu. Itâs an enormous piece of meat, accurately cooked as requested and carved and plated at the table. Thereâs a bit of showmanship, with brandy being poured over and flamed before carving. And thereâs an array of vegetables to go with it â asparagus, courgette, carrot, cauliflower, broccoli and baby sweetcorn. And a very well made potato dauphinoise. And some pan juices to drizzle over and an excellent béarnaise sauce. This had been a lot of food and only one of us felt they had room for dessert. The menu described it as âcaramel apple sphereâ. This was disappointing, with no real flavour of caramel and precious little of apple. Nor was it a sphere, unless they meant the blob of ice cream. This could have been good if only there had been a good twang from apple and richness from caramel but this just tasted of a generic sweetness. It all made me later wonder if Iâd actually been served the dessert Iâd ordered.Service was generally good but there was a quibble. The Grill Room is one of the places where, if you order a bottle of water, they donât leave it on the table. Now, thatâs OK if the waiters are âon the ballâ and top up your glass regularly. That didnât happen here and we had to keep asking for the bottle. And the second bottle we ordered, while still eating the main course, didnât arrive until after weâd finished eating dessert.
