Find out what European restaurants to try in Ubeda. Úbeda (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈuβeða]; from Arabic Ubbada al-`Arab and this from Iberian Ibiut) is a town in the province of Jaén in Spain's autonomous community of Andalusia, with some 36,025 inhabitants. Both this city and the neighbouring city of Baeza benefited from extensive patronage in the early 16th century resulting in the construction of a series of Renaissance style palaces and churches, which have been preserved ever since. Ubeda is renowned as a âfoodyâ town. They were celebrating with a food festival in the town when we visited. Each week, over a period of about six weeks, one restaurant in the town was putting on a special gastronomic menu to showcase their food and restaurant. The day we were there it was the turn of El Seco. It was a menu del dia consisting of five courses at a cost of â¬28. We were expecting something special. The first course was a very simple plate of local bread and olives. Next came a bean cassoulet, which was very rustic in its presentation but quite nice. After this we had some salt cod in a gloopy sauce. Tiny piece of very tough cod, completely overwhelmed by the rather horrible sauce. Next came some flakes of rabbit. These contained quite a few splinters of bone. Dessert was OK but not memorable. As a showcase menu it was disappointing. Presentation was nothing more than home cooking and the food was not great. Service was pleasant but amateurish.

Our dining room is in Ubeda a gastronomic reference for their generous dishes that combine perfectly optimal for money and creativity in their presentations. More than 80 references of wine for the best pairings and great quality products from our region.
It seems to be a great place for tapas but waiters "were not There", recomendations were an absolute disaster ('mollejas' had no taste, There was only one white wine in glasses and was horrible (maybe because it was HOT)The total amount was expensive if we compare with other places in the same street

I visited this restaurant with my partner recently while visiting the beautiful area of Ubeda and Baeza. The menu of the day was both excellent and good value.... There are several choices and the 10 euro menu includes a three course meal with wine and bread..We both enjoyed our selections enormously, being well cooked with excellent presentation....The restaurant itself has a warm friendly atmosphere and air conditioning . The service was excellent and efficient......We didn't partake in the pizza but it looked very inviting and there were many choices at 8.50 euros each and very large, enough for two at least.I didn't personally see any children in this restaurant , I noticed a couple of other reviews saying it was full of children, but when we were there, on a weekday, there were only business people there. Of course if you go at the weekend there may well be children....You cannot argue with the quality of this lovely restaurant and at prices everyone can afford. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to everyone .. If you are in this lovely area ,give yourself a treat and try it.

To our surprise and delight, our stay in Ubeda was a highlight of our trip through southern Spain. Our hotel was a parador (a Spanish government owned inn) created out of a Renaissance palace. The palace had a central open courtyard, arcades, and beatuiful arches. Our room was on the second floor (first floor to Europeans), was large, luxuriously furnished, and had a terrific view of the Plaza Vazquez de Molina, Ubeda's most famous square. No need to imagine ourselves queens because tbat's the way we were treated at the parador. A wonderful stay, but 2 nights there were not enough!

Llamame Lola is a Gastrobar with an amazing terrace where you could enjoy the sun in winter and being covered by the trees in summertime while enjoying a frozen beer or own wine. We offer a wide range of quality local and seasonal products: tapas, menus f
Nice, modern tiny gastrobar. Excellent location in the middle of renaissance town Ãbeda. Cozy terrace under the trees. Very tasty food and also interesting vegetarian dishes. We had delicious selection of croquetas, tomato carpaccio with parmesan cheeese and spicy patatas bravas. So nice local feeling and friendly service.

'Ubeda is well worth a Mass'. Misa de 12, 12 o'clock Mass, is an unusual restaurant, lacking some comforts. It is a tavern with just a few square meters where with a bit of luck you will get one stool and some room to place your viands. It is small and ma
Situated on the corner of Plaza 1 mayo, we stopped here for lunch and were not disappointed. Excellent food and great selection of wine with friendly service. Whilst we were there people were queuing for seats to become available rather than go to one of the other restaurants nearby. Very enjoyable.

Small tavern of good wines and spanish tapas, in the centre of the old city, in the popular Real Street. You can also enjoy in our terrace outside in the street. In our small tavern, you can find tapas and plates made with a very good quality and love, go
On our visit to Ubeda weâre looking for a light lunch and came past this wonderful gem, the delicious smell stoped us on our tracks and went in. We had a goat cheese and gulas salad and artichoke flowers both dishes were beautifully presented and delicious, the attention was superb. I wish Luma a bright future in this restaurant. Thank you so much. You can see that they have passion in what they do.

I booked this restaurant for my husband David's birthday after reading good reviews.First impressions a very nice tasteful interior. We were given salted peanuts with our gin and tonics, not a good combination and unexpected in a high class restaurant. This set the tone for the very dissapointing meal which followed. We were shown to our table which was so brightly lit we asked for some of the lights to be turned off. As we were the only diners it would have been nice to be given one of the romantic cosy corner tables. Then came a plate of olives, straight from a jar of salted brine, no marinade. Our first course of trout tartar was very good. Then came fillet steak tough and almost cold with small garnishes this was sent back. The beef rib was good but very fatty. For dessert a chocolate coulant straight from the microwave, came swimming in a very cold cream sauce and strangely served with a finely chopped fruit salad. With wine and water this extremely poor meal was 99 euros, this only included one main course. We definitely would not recommend this restaurant.

Ubeda isn't short of very good restaurants and this one is certainly amongst them. The main restaurant is furnished as an "Orient Express" train carriage with lovely wood marquetry panelling. The menu isn't overly long ( we didn't want the multi course tasting option) which allows focus on getting things just right. Nice presentation ( perhaps a little dated by the best international standards) but stunning intense flavours. Plus you can drink very good wines at a fraction of the absolutely ridiculous restaurant wine mark ups prevalent in the UK. Final bill for three courses , drinks and service just under 200 Euro for 4 people. Excellent value in a high standard restaurant
