This is the place to visit if you want to have a 100 per cent satisfaction : superb tasty original dishes, excellent wines, wonderful presentation, perfect service. Their sommelier is a gem, the whole serving team works with style and charm. It is conveniently located just steps away from the rural train station of Langenlebarn, close to Tulln, which people staying in Vienna can reach in 32 minutes of a pretty train ride along the Danube ( Franz Josef Bahnhof or Spittelau U4) .

Our hotel had suggested we visit the S'pfandl and it lived up to the recommendation. The evening was cool and we were directed to an upstairs room that had two armour clad knights at each end watching over the diners, maybe to ensure no one left without paying :-)We requested an English menu but were told they did not carry one which is a pity as I am certain we would not be the first or last English speakers to visit. Our food was excellent, yes maybe a little slow in arriving but we were in no rush and when it did arrive it provided total satisfaction. It is clearly a very popular venue as every table was taken and all appeared to be local people rather than tourists. It must be said that eating here is not a cheap option but it is in Austria and after visiting Hungary and Romania every thing is much more costly.

We, well I, decided to eat here as the Italian restaurant we planned to visit was closed, and this place brews it's own beer. The beer was very good, the food was decent Austrian food but the usual fare. We sat outside at the end of the row, upwind from the smokers so it didn't bother us, but smoking in restaurants is a major problem is Austria if you don't enjoy a fag with your schnitzel. This restaurant is no different from most of the others.

Old fashioned Gasthaus with traditional well presented food. The special touches are evident every where. Starting with the menus which are handwritten in calligraphy and explicit as to ingredients and technique. One of my favourite dish in Austria is " Tafelspitz" whose main ingredient is boiled beef. It was offered with a selection of 3 different cuts of beef - each listing the percentage of fat. Seasonal pumpkin was offered not only as soup but also with nochi

We came here for family lunch. Overall very good food, and good service.Only the coffee was cold, which was a shame.

We had no reservation, and the waiter gave us the last open table. This seemed to be a concern to the owner but he shook it off. We had snitzel, lentils and lamb sausage and deer. It was all good. Very attentive service. The wine list is the largest I've ever seen. You should have a look even if you don't order from it. Dinner for four was about 200 euro including a 60 euro bottle of gruener veltliner.A highlight.
