We went here for dinner and had a 3 course meal. They serve excellent food made with surprising combinations of ingredients and unknown ingredients. They also have local wines and beers so even the drinks are an adventure. The service was no nonsense (in a good way) and absolutely perfect. The room is very cosy to sit in with smaller tables alongside the walls and one large table with high stools in the middle. The only negative thing is that we were in this restaurant on a very hot day (30°C outside) and they do not have airconditioning so it was unbearably hot inside. We hope the owners will invest in airconditioning soon. We will definitely return here but on a less hot day.

If you walk 3 minutes from the Grote Markt you will find this little pearl of a tapas restaurant, a little bit hidden, but absolutely worth the search. The food is great with a wide selection of different tapas. There is always something new on the menu if you are visiting often. If you like tostadas, this is a absolute must for you to taste. The atmosphere is very comfortable in a calm, but efficient environment. This is our favourite restaurant in Tongeren, even though we have visited one of the Michelin star restaurants there as well. Conclusion: Great food, great service, definitely worth a visit. We will be back :-)

Several menu options are quite attractive from a quality/price ratio, while a la carte is a bit expensive. Wine list is fairly well stocked and reasonably priced (3 courses at 42 euro). We went for the summer menu, with swordfish tartare to start, followed by guinea fowl. Both quite good, though I would have grilled the fowl a tad less. Excellent dame blanche to end, the apricot dessert was too acid for me but other at my table loved it.Exquisite ambiance, cutlery and glasses.Would definitely return when in Tongeren.

This place, very close to the town center has earned a Michelin star. The interior is formal but the tables are arranged to offer some privacy. A menu in a gastronomic restaurant deserves some intimacy to share the delights with one's partner. We had a superb dinner with assorted wines and could not be happier. Definitely more than worth a relaxed visit. Reservation is essential.

We had the 5 course dinner and we were pleasantly surprised with very original dishes that were extremely tastefull. The service is very warmly and the explanation of the dishes is very informing. We had the Crémant as aperitif and one glass of perfect red wine with the main course. Also the coffee with treats after our meal was a delight. Highly recommended.

Restaurant Sjalotte serves a delicious French all-day menu of classic dishes with a contemporary twist. Our dishes are made by Chef Mathijs Koonen formal chef at several Michelin restaurants and is now proud owner of Sjalotte. Enjoy our daily made menu wi
Had an exceptional x-mas party with the social club, 50 persons present. The four course menu with accompanying wines were outstanding. The culinary and service level the owners accomplished would put many star restaurants to shame. A definite must if you are a foodie. Enjoy.

Was lucky to be invited for a celebration and we were seated at a beautiful wooden table in the middle of the room. We all ordered the suggested menu. Each course was a celebration between presentation and taste. Run by the owners, the wife is in the kitchen, while the husband does the table service. We had a perfect evening with our friends. Definately going back very soon.

We went for diner in June 2013. The service was excellent. The waiter was allot at the table and served us well. When one of my friends at table ordered a beer and it was forgotten, he got a beer from the house, 2 minutes after asking again for it.As entree I took a the soup of the day. The succhini-cream soup that was served was very good. For the main course I ordered the mixed grill. It wasn't special or fantastic but it was good and plenty. The mustard honey sauce served with the mixed grill was very tasty. As desert we took the sorbet of different fruits. We got 3 scoops, one lime, one mango and one red berries scoop. This desert was very nice and refreshing. The white wine of the house served with our diner was also a good choice. It was a Chardonnay of 2011. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes the traditional Belgian, French kitchen.

In this little and quiet village lies a nice restaurant. Itâs a little drive from Maastricht. If it is a sunny day you can use the terrace at the water. On the otherside of the water is Belgium. Relaxed atmoshere and friendly staff. Food and drinks are very good.
