Independent Black Forest locales dating back to medieval times, in 1971, Titisee and Neustadt (along with Rudenberg) banded together to form Titisee-Neustadt. (A few years later, nearby towns Langenordnach, Schwärzenbach and Waldau also joined the union.) Long known as a spa town, Titisee sits on the banks of the lake of the same name. Legend says the name came from Roman Emperor Titus, who was so taken by its beauty that he named it after himself. The area is great for hiking and winter sports.

Homemade Burgers,
I have seen the reviews so I want. The burgers were nice but over cooked. The atmosphere wasn't so nice. The service is good for Germans because the waitress English was bad. There are better alternatives Vielen Dank für die Ehrlichen Worte, leider können nicht alle unsere Servicekräfte perfektes English, das die Burger nicht Perfekt waren tut uns sehr leid in der Regel ist dies nicht der Fall.

We booked 3 nights via phone. It is a family hotel/guesthouse which found during a spontaneous search for vacation.Ms. Straub was very kind, offered to reserve a family two bedroom apartment (as we have 4kids) without taking pre-payment or credit card #.The two-rooms apartment was big and very convenient with a clean shower and nice view from angled windows in the roof.Breakfast was great. We got our own table every day, the kids got their hot chocolate and we had our tea/coffee. A very generous buffet. Great start for the day The hotel provide the red card for free attractions in the black forest which we really used and the kids loved it.We had dinner once which was lovely and very friendly for kids. All in all we had a great time - thank you Straub Family!

Good pasta and pizzas with an Italian staff so if you aren't fluent in German, try Italian. I recommend reservations as they are usually very busy and simply stop serving people after a certain hour.

We had dinner at this restaurant. Our waiter was terribly unfriendly. Did not seem to enjoy his job. When we asked if ice tea was available, only a growl came out of his mouth (it was not available). They serve fresh fish, however all the fish we ordered were tasteless: no pepper or herbs were used at all. It seems like they don't care about service; a lot of tourists will dine here anyway thanks to the location.

We were staying in a nearby vacation rental, when on the first evening we ventured into town for some dinner. We spotted this delicatessen shop / restaurant. We had two lovely meals, with some incredible wines (you can choose any one in the store, plus â¬5 cork fee, nice!). Since they have several dishes that rotate daily, we decided to go back the next evening for some homemade raviolis. Friendly family run staff that cater to their customers every need. We will definitely return, next time we are in the area.

Based on TA rating we went to have dinner in this restaurant and weren't disappointed. The summer salad is soooo fresh and full of taste, my trout was perfectly fried in butter with boiled potatoes a perfect match. My dearest had pork loin which was perfectly grilled and tender. The Black Forest cake was the weak spot of the dinner If the owners would put some fans inside to ventilate it would be much nicer...

Wandered in off the street into this superior hotel and restaurant. We were treated very warmly and we went through the menu and our questions we eagerly answered. We ended up ordering 3 different main courses. Mine was fish and was cooked to perfection.A great meal was finished off with very good coffee.

The pizza was too salty, the pasta pesto wasn't a fresh pesto, that is expected for the price. We were with 2 kids and they didn't want to eat the food.We were very disappointed and don't recommend.

Holiday in the Black Forest Hello and welcome! The inn Heiligenbrunnen is nestled in the beautiful and lovely landscape of the southern Black Forest at 1,025 meters above sea level between Hinterzarten, Breitnau and Titisee-Neustadt. Far away from the noi
This restaurant is off the main roads, on a green hill, which makes its surrounding area very relaxing and beautiful in spring time.Heiligenbrunnen mean "Holy fountain" and there is one in the restaurants open yard. The restaurant itself is inside what used to be a church, with some of the relics still inside. We came here especially after we've seen the reviews here - and I can say the food is good, but not great, for example, I had a Goulash soup that was very very salty, the Schnitzel was OK. The desserts were much better. If you're afraid of dogs or cats take heed because the house roam free in the restaurant, but my children liked that a lot.Good visit if you have the time, but not a culinary must.
