From the outside you may not expect such a lovely restaurant. The modern interior was pleasing and comfortable. The service was excellent and professional. The choice of food was good and its presentation was very nice. We felt it offers great value for money

Ideally located in the centre of Tiel, on the square with other restaurants/cafés. The atmosphere is typically Dutch "brown café". Very good choice of food, both for lunch and dinner, and very reasonably priced. Generous portions, and very friendly & helpful staff.

It is summer now in Europe but few weeks long it was raining and storming in Netherland. Last week we got lucky with the weather when the daughter of my husband invited us to have lunch in Tiel. The terrace or 3 zussen lies at a dijk with beautifull vieuw toward the river junction between the Waal river and Amsterdam Rijn canal with the back ground view of the long Willem Alexander bridge. The restaurant serves various lunch mealw, as well high tea things. At the main buildings where it lies behind the restaurant, man can have nice dinner when Holland's weather again strike. I recommend people when they are around in the area to try this very special restaurant in Tiel.

We were referred to this restaurant by the owner of Kasteel Ophemert, where we were staying that evening. This restaurant is less than one year old, but the food was outstanding. Our appetizers were gazpacho and Caesar salad. The entrees we selected were cod and Coq chicken. Both were cooked in a mixture of mushrooms, potatoes, and green beans. My wife chose from the three-course fixed price menu, so in addition to her Gazpacho and cod, she had a strawberry sauvignon custard-type dessert. Service was excellent. If you have a car or bicycle to get here, I would definitely recommend doing so.

Super, dus wij komen hier terug.

I visited Van der Valk Tiel with a Christmas Brunch. The most important thing is the food and the food was good! However, sometimes it took pretty long before they replaced it if it was empty. There is enough choice so the food isn't the problem! However: It was one big mess at the arrival. No one really did know what was happening and where to go. The staff said that the buffet has openend but an other member said it was still closed. In that way it was a mess. However the staff who helped us were friendly, the live music was cosy and the atmosphere was christmasy! The price? Yeah it's pretty expensive, I expected something more from the price.

My wife and I visited this restaurant on a Friday evening. Although the restaurant is located in a small village, the restaurant was nicely filled. We had the monthly special menu. The food was good, but the portions were not oversized. Nevertheless we had a great dinner with some nice (Belgian) beers. The cost of the dinner was more than reasonable. All-in-all I can recommend this restaurant to anybody who is in this rural area of the Netherlands.

With family and friends we booked at Bistre De Buurvrouw...A very warm and nice decorated bistro in Tiel, with a very good reputation in food and atmosphere...so we tried. We had a very warm welcome by host Stef, so nice that we felt "home" immediately !We had a great big round table, close to the internal yard (good for us to smoke one in between)...The card is very diverse and after we got a small drink (fruit-juice/liquer) and an amuse from the chef, we decided to order...The friendlyness of the staff is amazing and we where very well advised about food and wines.All...but really all was very tasty, the service extraordinary good and symphatic and it gave us the real bistro-feelings for a price which below big-city level. After dinner the owner came to ask how we liked it, ...well...still enjoying our coffee and complimentary bon-bons/chocolates, we could only say GREAT !We do dinner (worldwide) everywhere, but this was a very surprising EXCELLENT !Staff, kitchen, atmosphere, food, price, service, facilities, bar for an after-drink, price-quality...TOP !We'll be back Stef & Margo...what a home-feeling !

It is not on of the top restaurants of the town but it might be the best of its kind. The service is very attentive, and very helpful with the description of the menu (all in Dutch) and recommendations. The cook gets very well attempted dishes and sauces. fair selection of wines to go with.We were there two days, ate different meals each days and were very pleased with everything. The good environment of the bar made us feel at home (although it was obvious that we were the only foreigners there)
