This is the 2nd time I've ate in La Villa S and gets better! The setting is lovely and after walking around the lovely Soulac sea side, nothing better than refuelling in this place. I have confit duck (I think I had same thing 2 years ago) and the service, quality of food is superb! They also offer a 1/4 or litre of House wine in a carafe for 5 Euros! Well, you are in the Medoc so wine is never going to be a let down! Lovely lunch and very good value. I'd wince if that same meal and wine was to be served somewhere in central London..! All in all, try it if ever in Soulac!

I live in Soula Sur Mer. My husband and I visited the Grill Ocean for lunch. I ordered from the " dish of the day" my husband ordered from the A La Carte Menu. When the meals arrived my husband had the wrong dish. Mine was correct but to me it looked as if it had been plated up some hours before. I touched it with my little finger and it was cold. I returned it to the waiter and said, I do not want this or to have it replaced. I will sit here and just wait for my husband. My husband finished his meal and he enjoyed it. I asked for the bill. I was charged for the two meals, I paid without question, its a small town. End of story for us. Some weeks later I had a visit to my home from the owner of the Grill Ocean and his wife accusing me of writing a bad review. No matter how many times i said I did not write a revue ( its a small town, in my opinion you do not upset the locals) he insisted I had. I asked him several times to leave but he didn't leave until my 6'3" son came to the gate.Today I am writing a revue, so owner of the Grill Ocean do your worst.p.s. I'm 70 years old.

This centrally located restaurant is very pleasant. the food is cooked fresh and very well. I like the meat dishes but their speciality is fish which my wife adores. Happily the dishes are not overfilled, so don't expect copious quantity just a pleasant quality.

Restaurant et Bar à Bière Spécialiste du Burger et de la Brochette Les week-end et juillet août venez déguster des planches charcuteries et fromages à toute l'heure avec nos bières
We had sandwiches and fries for an early dinner. Him: locally caught fish, me: chicken. Excellent choice of a variety of local foods, and the selection of wine by the glass was good. Prices are moderate. Server/owner couldn't have been friendlier - great recommendations for wine. Wish I had had room for dessert. The place is a bit funky, with traditional jazz playing on the sound system, which we really enjoyed.

Uni
We ate here three times sampling the â¬15 lunchtime menu which was hard to fault - beautifully presented, varied and delicious. The children's menu was a great hit with ours: not your usual run-of-the-mill frozen burgers but equally well-presented quality food and great desert (although ice-cream was on offer too).

n France, the hotel was created in 1890, at the base of the Medoc region in Gironde. It was acquired by Guy & Gabrielle Albospeyre in June 1956. Evelyne, their elder daughter, took over the management of the hotel with her husband, Claude Moulin, in 1981.
Four of us walked into this restaurant on a thursday evening at about 7.30pm. We asked for a table, the lady looked us up and down and asked if we had a reservation, we said no, so she said there was nothing available, this was inspite of the fact that the restaurant which is quite large was completely empty! We were very polite and the conversation took place in french as one of our group is fluent in the language. I can only surmise that they didnt like the look of us as we were dressed in teeshirts and long shorts, but that was becuase we had spent the day travelling and were very warm. The area was very quiet so I dont imagine they were suddenly going to get an influx of customers. Anyway we spent our money elsewhere, their loss.We are sorry that you had a unplesant welcome. The lady who was working sould not treat you in this way. However, we have checked the reservation notebook and all the tables were actually booked, the guests coming from 19.30 to 21.00. If a table has a reservation for 20.30, it is not possible for us to accept guests at 19.30. It would mean to hurry them for their diner. Regarding to the outfit, we are not very demanding, knowing we are located near the beach. We are again very sorry. Regards, Evelyne et Claude Moulin

6 of us in our party, glad we pre-booked. It was a Wednesday night at the end of the busy season but this restaurant was jam packed, inside & out. Lovely eating area outside, but we sat inside. Food was lovely and really good portion sizes; my husband ordered duck but they had sold out so recommended the veal, it was the size of a T-bone steak! Quality of food is high but prices are very reasonable for what you get. Service was friendly and efficient (bit slow towards the end, but they weren't in any hurry to get rid of us!) Overall would be more than happy to go here again.

By intimate I mean it's not very big inside. There are some chairs and tables outside but beware of the strong breeze that blows off the sea and straight down this street.A reasonable choice of wines and decent classy snacks such as charcuterie. Nice atmosphere but a little overpriced.

Our first night in Royan and were drawn towards this Portside restaurant on the Strip .A warm and inviting Welcome .A broad selection of plates .Good quality food albeit simple dishes .Large portions and friendly services .Typical overpricing but they are all the same on Portside .You pay to eat on the Harbour in the sunshine!
