I haven't had schnitzel in awhile and this was great! Very large schnitzel that left me full. I thought the speed of service was on par with other restaurants we have eaten at - the food is made to order and of high quality, so a little wait should be expected. We topped it off with apfelstrudel dessert. The food was outstanding and I highly recommend it. Plenty of seating in the biergarten. They are in a new location and the owner said they have been here for just 2-months. This is actually a resort with long & short-term residences. They also have a pool. We liked the place so much that we plan to stay here the next time we visit the country.

We have never had a bad meal here. The schnitzel is delicious. I always opt for the red pepper sauce and the spouse the one with peppercorn sauce. I myself don't care for it as it taste soapy to me but continue to try each time we come. But the pepper sauce is delicious though. Many times we have been there and usually it's the service that has been far from stellar but this time it was pretty good. So nice to see. We will definitely come back as it is delicious food for a decent price.

We find it very very difficult to believe that there are 20 restaurants in Sosua that are rated higher than this gem. Andre, the German chef is outstanding in the kitchen, to say the least. Four of us went for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. To keep this review simple, the food was delicious, the service was prompt , friendly, professional and courteous. Although schnitzel was not on the menu, Andre agreed to make it for my husband, who raved about it. Our entire group was delighted with their culinary choices. This is a genuine hidden gem, do not miss it! Great value, dinner for four with drinks, less than $100 USD. Lots of ambience, roomy, well furnished, without a doubt has to be one of the top three places to eat in Sosua. Definitely the best place we have eaten in three weeks in the DR.

we regularly visit this small quaint restaurant and are never disappointed. Pasta is always perfectly cooked and the sauces are as good as any to be found. Portions are generous and service by Titi and Manuel is always prompt, courteoius, and friendly. Prices are reasonable.

Traditional Italian food restaurant with a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. If you are looking for the real Italian taste, visit us.
Such lovely ambience in the midst of tropical plants and a swimming pool. The music was soft and relaxing. They have an extensive menu but several items were not available. They gave each of us a sample of a delicious tropical juice to wet our appetite. The caprece was delicious with fresh basil, cheese, tomatoes and sauce. Regrettably, I ordered the eggplant parmigiana which was clearly blackened from burning. Neither the wait staff nor the cook seemed to notice until I flipped over this entree and had them take it away. My daughter ordered lasagna and was unhappy that it had been prepared with goat cheese instead of the classic ricotta. My granddaughter ate it. At the end, all were certain that they would not return.I'm sorry if your experience wasn't perfect. We didn't have the Mahi Mahi because we cook only fresh ingredients so if the fisherman doesn't bring me fresh fish I simply don't buy it. The original lasagna isn't made with "classic ricotta" as you say (maybe in England it is). Lasagna is made with ragu' Bolognese, besciamella and Parmiggiano. Thank you anyway for your review.

Have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here on several occasions and never disappointed. I especially like their specials, sometimes schnitzel, sometimes liver and onions, and the menu is varied as well. Breakfasts are great as they aren't just served with toast, but with fresh soft rolls. Highly recommend. Closed on Wednesdays.

Went for dinner Dec 17 2016. wasn't even sure if it was open. They had to dust off the tables after we were seated, then they started sweeping the floor, and rearranging tables, restocking the bar. We thought we were imposing on them. The food was decent and fair quantity. The killer came when we left and noticed 2 rat traps sitting right beside the stairs, made us want to upchuck.Menu has not changed in forever. Décor is getting shabby once again not updated in forever. Always used to see the owner present but not lately.Eaten here many times in the pastNot likely to return

Stopped here for a couple of beers and a chat with a guy down from the Turks and Cacos Islands, where it seems to be too quite, so he comes to DR a couple of times a year to chat with the proprietor in the his old tongue. The great thing about this bar is that there is a good clean toilet for use by the patrons. The ice cold beers were served up in a cane cooler by a pleasant young waitress. Snacks too are available at a very reasonable price.

City, the restaurant at Casa Valeria, has always been a reliable favorite in Sosua. For a few months, however, it seemed the new owners and staff were struggling to find their feet. With the very welcome addition of Chef Thilo in the kitchen, things are back on track. The menu is fairly extensive, but the best choices are always Thilo's specials. He is the king of curries, and you can't go wrong with the chicken or the beef, whichever is on the menu. One of my favorites is the very simple grilled fish with almonds and lemon-butter and fluffy, rich mashed potatoes. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the value for the peso is very good. Highly recommended!Thank You for your kind review. We are looking forward to have you here again at The City Restaurant.Best Regards.
