Sitting under the trees outside in this real local place. Makes it a bit more relaxed and 'gemütlich'. Schnitzel and gulasch as to be expected.

The bruschetta (clearly a cheap one bought in a shop) still wasn't defrosted in the center, parts were dried out old crust.

We were in Scharding for a day and wandered in for dinner sans a reservation. We were seated by the owner, who greeted us warmly. The only difficulty we had was that we had wanted one pizza to split, not two. We went ahead and enjoyed a pizza each, along with a bottle of wine. Finished off the meal with a Tiramisu. Wait staff was prompt and friendly and the owner visited our table as well.I would return and based upon our visit am a bit puzzled why this restaurant is rated as low as it is in the city.

Top!

We were on our way back to Germany and wanted to eat tasty, fresh food instead of the awful roadside restaurants on the German highways. Thus we decided to stop in Schärding and were positively surprised by the large a la carte menu, very tempting dishes, great taste and very reasonable prices. Quite a few typical Austrian dishes as well as plates inspired by local ingredients, invite you to stop by for lunch. Except for the steaks, which seemed high quality but pricey (probably acceptable), the rest was fine. Credit cards are accepted. In the back of the restaurant there is a more secluded, modern area with new furniture while the entrance area is decorated with the typical wooden interior design. So if in the area and you would like to taste local cuisine then definitely stop by.

We sat down at an outside table ready for a spot of lunch and "people watching". We ordered drinks and the waitress brought us a menu in English.I ordered Thai curry with prawn, my wife (unusually for her) a burger. It started to rain, so we moved inside. The waiting staff did a good job of clearing the outside tables and keeping track of the food orders during a busy lunchtime service. The food was particularly nice, well presented and flavourful. The portion sizes were reasonable as opposed to generous. The meal came to just over 30 Euro which seemed reasonable for good food and service.Recommended

On a beautiful, balmy evening, we had the perfect setting for dinner. Lachinger specializes in local cuisine of the season, which means many things made with pumpkin but also some specials with truffles at this time of year (bit earlier than expected). I like pumpkin soup and their style is not my favorite style, but it was still good. The main courses my wife and I chose included the truffle risotto with very good beef filet and the pumpkin noodles with large medallions of good beef. Salad was perfectly fine, but not notable. Portions are sizeable, so we were unable to even think of dessert. Service was friendly. Only real quibble was that the risotto was a little too over-cooked but not really by much.

The restaurant is nestled on the outside of the city wall. The signage is inadequate to direct you to the customer's parking. Instead of a gravel surface, we wound up parking in the mud with the employees. The restaurant has a large manicured lawn and garden and even several rows of grape vines. The interior is modern and trimmed in stained, industrial grade lumber which gives a fleeting impression of elegance. The menu and wine list are not nearly as extensive as that on the website implies, but it still speaks of elegance. My wife and I each ordered from the wild offerings. Both dishes looked wonderful, however my Hirsch was a little on the tough side. My wife's Wild boar was like shoe leather. When we complained to the waiter, he made several apologies and finally removed my wife's plate from which she had eaten about a quarter of the meat.I have been in several upscale restaurants where something similar has happened. Each sought ways to correct the situation from making a new dish to giving a full or partial refund of the dish. At the Orangerie, my wife got a free Espresso!I can understand that sometimes a restaurant makes a bad purchase, but when your reputation is on the line, you need to do more than give a free espresso that costs you perhaps 0,35â¬.Had the restaurant made a sincere effort to deal with this problem, I would have given them 4 Points and forgiven the incident. At the prices charged, this becomes a reason to not recommend the restaurant, despite all the things that were done well. What is particularly sad is that aside from the meat quality, we were pleased with the presentation, food taste and the wines.

When you go here, you have a normal menu and a seasonal menu. Due to the hunting season in Austria, there was a lot of game food. This reflected in the walls which although not all may find appealing, i did enjoy. All the classics are on there and some you may not know of. Defiantly worth a visit purely for the authentic Austrian food and overall place. If you only have one night, this would be where to eat.

we had a 4 course surprise dinner at the restaurant this week and everything was perfect once again. they exciting combinations of ingredients, the food and wine pairing was perfect and service was impeccable. they have a lovely young team of people in the kitchen and in the service area. you can watch the chefs cook and do the plating. we particularly loved the dessert with caramel and cauliflower.
