Reviews on European food in Schaffhausen, Canton of Schaffhausen, Switzerland. This is a medieval city in the far north of Switzerland, with many Renaissance-era buildings, a fine old Canton fortress, the Munot, and as a key attraction, the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfalls in Europe.

Incredible food, wine, atmosphere and service at this little cozzy restaurant in the center of Neuhausen, just getting inside with the warm welcoming of owners Evelyne and Stefan you know you are in the right place to taste a great dinner pair with a great local wine, I always asked Evelyne for advise on what to eat that night and she always get it right, her husband Stefan is a great chef, use local ingredients and always put his personal touch in his creations, you will love it, guarantee, alls the reviews I have read about it including this one are just short of the experience, SUPERB!!!

Panoramic restaurant with a spectacular view on the waterfall. Modern international cuisine and a cosy atmosphere. Rhinefall is illuminated in the evening!
The view and location are obviously the key reason for our visit but the food was very good as well, even though relatively expensive. But very much worth it because it is an amazing experience to sit and eat with the amazing views...

Friendly fast service: attentive staff, welcoming. Reliable Italian food, go for the saltimbocca, affordable wines by the glass. And after the meal there are many romantic alleys and snickelways to go for a reasonable stroll preparing the good digestion. Schaffhausen is worth a visit, just a short train trip away from Zurich.Dear BURGWIN,Thanks for the extensive and positive review. We are pleased you enjoyed your meal. We are proud of our authentic Italian cuisine, including the famous crispy, wood-fired pizza, homemade pasta, and other delicious Italian specialities, served at Santa Lucia Schaffhausen. We hope you will be back soon to enjoy Schaffhausen and have another meal with us. la vita è bella - Adrian & Santa-Lucia-Team

We enjoyed a lovely meal in the garden of this restaurant. Terrific service. Wonderful food. Highly recommend the crawfish and avocado appetizer plus the duck entree. Another good item is the beef and white asparagus. A very nice dining experience.

I was there with a friend from Colombia and had 'Forelle' and 'Luma Pork'. The atmosphere was fine, but what irritated us from the very beginning until the end of the supper was the sickening smell of the table napkins due to ordinary laundry detergent or fabric softener which strongly interfered with the process of wine tasting. The cook's skills need to be improved, e.g: The 'Luma Pork' was a 'loveless mixture' of all ingredients served as a pellmell. The wine was good. The hostess loudly and endlessly chattered with guests at the next table.I hope that the young crew will enhance the skills in kitchen and reflect on its interactions with laundry and guests.I rate here not with 'poor' but with ''average' because I trust in the compliance of young entrepreneurs. Thanks for you Feedback. Some points we take on board some not...Best regards,Patrizia & Patrick

Just had my birthday lunch there the other week and again, I can't find anything negative to say... The service was perfect, all our menus were flawless and more than delicious, nicely presented. A special mention owns the menu salad, which was covered in a super tasty dressing. And I mean not just a slimy so called Balsamico that was carelessly spread over the leaves - no the salad was mixed beforehand with this super yummy dressing! Thank you, it was great!

Called in on the off chance. Was on my own and wanted a quick meal. Although they were fully booked for the evening, they fitted me in as I knew I had to leave promptly. It is Spargel-Zeit so I had a fish dish with generous portion of asparagus, lovely fresh fish.Friendly, efficient service

Good service but average food - we had business dinner in Sommerlust and definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and the excellent service. Food was however only average and behind expectations - not one of my favorite restaurants however competition is really very strong in Schaffhausen .

We had a delicious 9 course meal here. The presentation of the food was a delight for the eyes, the tastes amazing. A very good selection of wines are available. The restaurant is small with two dining areas, it has a cosy historical feel to it. The acoustics in the restaurant are very good, you can have a private conversation easily without hearing or being overheard by diners at other tables. The service is friendly and attentive. Fine dining at it's best in a casual, cosy atmosphere.
