We were recommended at our Accommodation to try this one.Good choice. Easy to find and classic Italian decor. Lots of artefacts decorating Cellar restaurant.We were 2 British couples and had a variety of dishes between us. Menu very comprehensive and staff very chatty and helpful with choices, including a good Italian red to wash it down.We even got free Digestif with our coffees after the meal.Highly recommended.

We had a terrific dinner! Staff was exceptional, helped us with a full menu translation to English and answered all of our questions. Gnocchi with seafood and pasta with pesto, tomato and ricotta was amazing. Sucking pig was tender, subtle and delicious. Wine and beer were exceptional. Vibe in the restaurant was warm, spacious and inviting. Canât say enough about our helpful and knowledgeable server. She was amazing!!!

'Gatta' is the one restaurant I booked before we arrived in Lucca. Firstly, the service is delightful. The two ladies at front of house could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We were late arriving and they were very accommodating despite the place being quite busy. The decor is fun and the place is nice and bright. We chose a tasting menu based on fish and seafood. There are some unusual combinations and bright ideas. It started really well with fantastic home baked breads, all nicely seasoned and a lovely amuse bouche of apple and celeriac puree. The soup was a nice, traditional one of Tuscan beans with salt cod and it was tasty but, like the following courses, it was a bit under seasoned for our taste. Despite this, I really enjoyed the following dish of freshwater fish with courgette, pumpkin, balsamic and olive oil - it was beautifully fresh tasting. Neither if us much liked the next pasta dish although I did eat all of mine. The pasta was too 'al dente' for our taste and the sauce a little bland. Seared tuna was next and this time, the seasoning was not too bad but I often find tuna a little disappointing. I was hoping this would be different but I must just have a problem with tuna! Fortunately, desserts were truly delicious and (along with the bread) the highlight of the meal. I still give quite a high rating as I enjoyed the evening very much and the 'seasoning' issue is a personal one. My partner is a chef and I know that chefs vary quite considerably when it comes to this. Also, we could have asked for extra salt - it was a pity there was none on the table. We were asked about food allergies and preferences at the beginning which is always a good thing. I would still recommend 'Gatta'. Its a great experience and a different one in Lucca.

It had been five years since we last enjoyed a meal at Paris Boheme. The food was just as good and Luis is still an engaging, delightful host. We both had pasta and a delicious mixed salad for lunch. We can't wait to take friends there for lunch or dinner. Be prepared to wait in the evening this is a very popular place!

Excellent, friendly service in a very cool restaurant. Our food was top notch and portions were generous. We had beef tartare, caprese salad, beef stew and ravioli. Tiramisu for dessert. This is supposed to be a Michelin star restaurant and the food is of that quality. Unfortunately the service is woefully lacking. The Maitre Dâ is aloof and seems to be overwhelmed with his responsibility. 8 of us had a fine lunch and the food was very well prepared. However, several times during our meal we were required to get up and refill our wine glasses. The staff seemed not to notice empty wine glasses. This despite the fact we consumed 6 bottles of wine and ended up with a tab of $125.00 per person. You would think a table that generated over $1,000.00 in revenue would have commanded at least a modicum if attention, but alas they were too busy to notice us. I say spend your dollars elsewhere. Someplace where you will be noticed and appreciated. There are many good restaurants in Lucca. This one is not a good choice. At a lower price point it would have rated higher, but it is a very poor value

A meal here is an exceptional experience - the each evening's set menu allows ingredients to shine. The wines on offer allow a good complement. The service is warm and friendly. The assortment of torte desserts a nice summary to a great dining experience. The friendly service and owners' attention to the curiosity of the diners about the dishes and their preparation was a pleasure to experience.

As a frequent visitor to Lucca, I have my favourite restaurants - but decided to try this new restaurant. I had booked a table outside on the terrace facing the Puccini museum. The service was great - and the food served, while typical of Tuscan food & Lucca specialities - had a special twist, superbly presented in the plate, and really delicious. This place will join my list of favourite restaurants!

This is a welcome new addition to the fast food scene in Lucca. It is a sort of mixture between British toasted sandwiches, American short order deli-style and traditional Italian panini.Prices are from around 4.00-6.00 euros for hot sandwiches using different types of bread and finished off in the microwave.We chose one of the newer combinations written on paper hanging down from the counter, and a more traditional filling but with French fries. The packaging is also very clever and you can eat it indoors, sitting down or standing by a shelf.It has only been here 9 months so it has made an impact quickly.Definitely recommended.Athyoz we thank you for your review. We have been in Lucca for only 10 months but we believe in the quality of the products, in the kindness and availability towards you and you customers have given us confidence and in a short time we have conquered a small space in the fast catering of this beautiful city. I had lunch here on a rainy Friday in October 2018 en route from San Gimignano to Camaiore. It was somewhat tricky to find amongst the luxurious villas and mansions dotted around this rich, lush landscape on the outskirts of Lucca, but well worth the effort.I accepted the recommendation of Andrea, the patron, of a glass of La Goia di San Stefano which is produced just down the road and is a truly beautiful bianco on the palette, especially with seafood in which this extraordinary restaurant specialises. My starter was a crudità of several types of local fish and shellfish. Presented magnificently on a capacious platter, it was distressing to disturb it's perfection by consuming it, but consume it I did - with relish. My mains was a generous portion of Muggine, also a local fish, white and tender served with a herb and potato pastiche and delicious fresh baby leaves. There was a definite secret ingredient which I would guess involved caramelized lemon. It was truly brilliant. (Andrea, who had taken great pains to explain the menu to me in his easy going and engaging way, insisted on re-cooking the main course as I had left my table as it arrived for 2 minutes.)As a parting digestive and a gift I was given a local gin infused with a herb from a plant which grows only on the local beaches and is much prized for its honey.The bill came to â¬70 which in my view was well worth it.The bread, coffee and accompanying biscuits were all of exceptional quality. This is quite clearly an exceptional restaurant and will rank as the best ever of a month's holiday in AndalucÃa and Tuscany/Umbria. Don't miss it if you're ever in the area!
