Find out what European restaurants to try in Samarkand. Samarkand (Uzbek Latin: Samarqand; Uzbek Cyrillic and Tajik: Самарқанд; Persian: سمرقند; Russian: Самарканд; Greek: Σαμαρκάνδη), alternatively Samarqand, is a city in modern-day Uzbekistan and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia. There is evidence of human activity in the area of the city from the late Paleolithic era, though there is no direct evidence of when exactly Samarkand was founded; some theories propose that it was founded between the 8th and 7th centuries BC. Prospering from its location on the Silk Road between China and the Mediterranean, at times Samarkand was one of the greatest cities of Central Asia.

In Samarkand you can find too many restaurants but this restaurant Morocco is one of the best with high services. Restaurant is new, mordern, clean and very delicious. Location also not too bad. I was with my group 15 persons everybody likes this places. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
For the first time in the city of Samarkand opened a restaurant of the European level "Green Bear Bar". This is a revolutionary bar restaurant art of our city, combining the advantages of a noisy bar and a fashionable restaurant, where it is nice to sit i
The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. The terrace is very special and the music creates a nice atmosphere. One waiter spoke perfect English and was very friendly. Snacks and drinks were served very quick. But even though the restaurant had few guests, we waited nearly one hour before the main course was served. Finally, in two different meals, the beef was cook too much. A pity because the quality of he meat was good. The best selection was the home brewed beer. So, itâs a good option to go for drinks and snacks only - like the name suggests.

Service and interieur are very mediocre, but then it is the only italian restaurant downtown. If you cannot wait to get another taste or you are really desperate for italian food, you might want to try Venizia, but don't expect too much. The Pizza was rather sad, way too much cheese.

T-Bone is hands down the only European type of food and bar place in the city. It surves all the traditional European food and drinks including steaks, soups, salads. They also have the best wine list in the city, I would say the ONLY wine list in the city. Beware, they do not serve Uzbek food at all. I like the athmosphere of the restaurant, it's very calm and relaxed, yet it's always crowded with the city's most fashionable people. This is a quite expensive place for the most of the locals comparing to most of the city chaichonas. Because it's considered mostly as the place to see and be seen, it's usually crowded by the young (and not very young) professionals and pretty ladies. I've been here maybe 5-6 times and enjoyed everything, especially the cream mugroom soup, the steaks and mojitos, and the cheesecake (the one with a chocolate cookie on top).

The restaurant has a large terrace and a more comfortable classical restaurant part inside. We went inside and enjoyed a good delicious food. The restaurant is on a European level in food preparation and quality. One waiter could speak English, the service was good. Only one small negative point leads to a reduction in the rating because it is not professional: The English menu shows no prices.
We decided to have couple of beers after our hectic day long trip at Samarkand. Tripadvisor showed up blues cafe as the go to joint. Choices of beer are limited. They have one Russian and 2 other beers. Even quantity of Russian beer was limited. We ordered that to taste something new. We ordered khachapuri for food. Though it took almost half an hour to bring the food but it tasted awesome. Me and my friends finished it with in minutes. Cafe wasn't that much costly if I remember well.

This cafe was busy with locals and tourists alike. Menu offers great salads and pizzas amongst other local fare. We opted for a pizza. Not the best we have had in Uzbekistan but enjoyable. Prices moderate and place is clean. Conveniently located walking distance from Amir Tempur monument.

...was my main course and it was fantastic, tender, tasty and original (with apricot and walnut). This family run little place is a nice retreat from the tourist hustle in Samarkants Russian district with Uzbek food and an always smiling and considerate waiter. Highly recommended!

Avoid this place if you want a nice lunch or dinner - you will stumble upon crowds and groups and the waiters will not have time for you.
