We had dinner here and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. The restaurant features a small open air courtyard in the back. The food was very good, the ambience relaxed, the prices reasonable, and the wait staff kind and attentive. They had free olives as a starter, and they were delicious. We ordered pizzas, salads, and lasagna. I tried everything and the lasagna was my favorite, but it wasnât mine, so I only had a little. We wish we could eat here again. Thank you.

The Restaurant L'Adresse is located in the heart of the medieval city. Offering a varied menu and cooking fresh products.
We were lucky to get a table as we arrived without booking and although it was right at the start of service there was a queue of customers. In spite of being busy the food and service were excellent and although some of the dishes on the 26 Euro menu that we chose were standard Sarlat fare they were served with a twist to make them special.

You can come to enjoy our cheeses with our slates of tasting and our today's specials, around a glass of wine, a traditional beer or an organic fruit juice. A home and friendly cooking.
I can understand why this nice casual, and relaxed, restaurant ranks highly on Trip Advisor. But, it is not to be compared on same basis as some of the restaurants in town offering fuller menus and wider choice. That said, if you want a truly flavorsome lunch or simple dinner, don't overlook La Cremerie. The day we visited for lunch, the menu of the day offered vegetable samosas and they were superb. And the wine by the glass was excellent. The team that run it have such a friendly, smiling approach too. Check it out. It is not in the heart of the old town, but only a short walk away, and worth making the effort to go there.

From the middle-priced menu of three, with two choices per course, we both had a delicious starter of leeks and finely chopped duck cracking with a soft boiled egg on a crouton. It was artistically presented on a wooden platter. My main course was a whole baby cockerel and truffled mashed potato, Râs main was a magret de canard. Both were copious and cooked to perfection. There was a choice of veg included, with the truffled mashed potato at a supplement of 2 euros. There was so much of this that we regretted having ordered one each. I remarked that one could barely detect the truffle, and I was very politely told that the chef would be informed, AND they removed the supplement from our bill! By the time you get it, Iâm sure it will be delicious. The café gourmand was pleasant, if not the best we have had. With a half carafe of house red, our bill totaled 64 euros, which considering the charm of the surroundings makes this one of the most enjoyable meals we have had this year.

This restaurant is located 5 km north of Sarlat and well worth the drive. It is on a major road and easy to find. After eating duck and foie gras for the past few days and after looking at the many similar menus in the old town, we decided to try something different and are so happy we did. Amazing meal: I donât like eggplant but his amuse bouche of aubergine âpearlsâ with pesto, mozzarella, balsamic was a wonderful combination of flavours. The seafood âsurpriseâ was an artfully plated platter of smoked salmon, perfectly cooked scallops, and seafood tartare with fish roe. The beef with bordelaise sauce was so good my husband wanted to lick the plate. We both thought the beef was better than the beef we recently had at a one star Michelin restaurant a few days ago. My chestnut cream dessert was excellent. The dinner menu (3 courses) for 29E each is an incredible value for this caliber of cooking. The waiter was excellent. The chef was welcoming, friendly, approachable and even showed us his array of specialty spices used to create his dishes. This is a must-do if you are in Sarlat!

We were staying at a gite barely a hundred metres away and couldn't believe that a place this good was so close. We booked dinner for a large group and it could not have gone smoother. With lovely traditional simple yet well executed dishes, very efficient service and a pretty good price too. The six course 26 euro menu looks great value but we opted for the three courses at 22 and glad we did as the portions are generous. This place has rooms and also a lovely Terrace on warmer nights. It's popular at weekends so book. The magret and confit carnations were top notch. As were the deserts.

This is one of the best places in the area for a simple meal with family or friends. It has a justifiably popular bar as well, and a lovely terrace for outdoor - but sheltered - eating, weather permitting. The staff are very friendly and professional.

We sensed discomfort as soon as we arrived. The woman at the front desk did not take time to welcome us or show us to our seats; and she merely mumbled that what they serve is salad, pizza, and desert. We stood in the outdoor dining area asking waiters about seating in the shade. They tried to help, and no shaded table opened up. Finally a table for six opened up. The woman came in and roughly told us we couldnât sit there, so we asked about a table for four that she had just cleaned. She did not respond to our saying we needed shade and would gladly move to the more shaded table for four since one of us has a skin condition. We waited, and help never arrived. So after ten minutes, we just left. Some other reviewer commented about the âacueilâ so... This is a cute place on the river and we know locals who have had good meals here. Management should work on making it welcoming.
