At the heart of Cathar castles at the foot of the peak Bugarach on our shaded terrace or in our air conditioned room we invite you to browse our local flavor and culinary traditions of our region. Our specialties: Hen with Morels, duck breast with cherrie
What a place! Taken here by friends on a recent visit. The food was outstanding and the service was attentive and very friendly. We had the set menu which included 5 courses and a 'colonel' - watch out for him if you're driving!! Wonderful charcuterie buffet to start, then foie gras 3 ways (including a 'creme brulee' version!), the main meal, a cheese course with a lovely sweet 'jam' witha delicious dessert to finish.thank you for your opinion and with the pleasure of re-examining you greetings La Ferme de Janou

We enjoyed dinner here, while travelling through the Pyrenees. We were welcomed with friendly smiles and, as we were travelling with our small dog, even he was welcomed.I had goats cheese salad and coq au vin. Both were served fast and were delicious. The Rose wine served as well complimented the food well. My wife said her meal was equally delicious.By the time we left, the restaurant was pretty full, with a number of obvious regulars enjoying their meals.A pleasant, simple and efficient restaurant and we enjoyed our dinner.

Looking for somewhere to eat after a drive over the Grau de Maury, we were lucky enough to find this lovely little restaurant opposite the local cave cooperative in Maury. We had an enjoyable meal here (gambas) sat out in the back terrace. The welcome from the proprietor was friendly and the meal was accompanied by a carafe of the local VdP from the cave over the road - so nice we had to go over and buy some to bring back home.

Stopped off for a coffee on the way up to Chateau Peyrepertuse. The two guys that ran the place were very friendly and chatty and the coffee was so good, I stopped on the way back down. The first thing they said was, "Hello again. Sorry, but we've run out of coffee." So I stayed and had Bavette steak, frites and a beer for â¬10 ... fabulous food, a great welcome and real good value for money.

A small restaurant in a village on the side of a very quiet road. The appearance of the building belies the quality of the food. French cooking at it's best - simple, imaginative and very tasty. We were a group of four and between us had a good selection off the menus and had no complaints about any thing.Service was friendly and efficient.Definitely worth visiting if in the area. We would have visited a second time but they are not open every evening - check before visiting especially early in the week.

A great traditional french menu to choose from with the food being presented beautifully and it was delicious. The atmosphere is calm and the terrace view is great. The waitress and waiter (who speaks excellent english) were charming. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.

We decided to go to EAT to this restaurant in the centre of Maury. You have a menu with entrée, main course, desert and coffee. All for 16 EUR.The food was excelent, a Saumon cake ( similar than a Quiche Lorraine), a burguinyoise with pasta and carrots, a flan de café with caramel and last the coffe. The Owners are extremely friendly and I recommend this place to everybody who want to taste french and local food at this region.

We had lunch at the Le Pouss, on a weekday. Uncharacteristically, the place offers no menu du jour, but well. Trying to be a considerate tourist I did my best to order in French and was met - just as uncharacteristically, that never happened elsewhere in the whole three-week holiday - with gruffness and the pretense not to understand a single word I said, making me point at things in the menu. The food, though, when it arrived, was okay, though nothing special, and the outdoor terrace is quite nice, too.

I ate here twice with two colleagues on consecutive nights in early July 2014 (alas there is not a lot to choose from in St Paul de Fenouillet). This place is excellent. Really good, slightly elaborately presented, but carefully prepared food. For starters, I had an excellent vegetable terrine on one occasion and a delicious tuna tartare the second time. Their steaks are simply superb - really excellent beef, obviously from a happy animal! They also have a good selection of local wines from the Agly coop, which I recommend to try. Overall, a friendly place and excellent value for money.
