We found this small bar/eaterie by accident but were very glad we did! From the moment that we asked if there was a table until we left, were made very comfortable and welcome by the young ladies and barman. The food filled the gap brilliantly with a superb. Starters were a tasty tartare de dourade and La burrantina (Italian dish like mozzarella but more creamy). Mains were a really good entrecôte cooked perfectly and a Fillet of Dourade which was to come with roasted vegetables. My wife asked for fries with it and this was taken to be instead of the vegetables. When pointed out that she wanted both, they arrived promptly with no extra charge. My only complaint would be that the limited wine list heavily lent to the more expensive types. This is the first restaurant in St Martin that we would visit again and am surprised at some of the other reviews which, glad to say, we ignored!!

As for the restaurant, we remain faithful to the spirit... A place where you feel at ease, with a menu elaborated to satisfy every taste⦠whether you are on the island for the day, hotel guests or regular customers. Depending on your mood or time of day,
We were looking for a classic french breakfast on the harbour on our first day in Ile de re while staying in St Martin.. The options didn't look promising as it was quite late in the morning and the restaurants seemed geared up solely for tourists and lunch. The Colonnes is a 3 star hotel just on the edge of the harbour which looks slightly rundown compared to the other restaurants but we thought we would chance it. We were not disappointed, in fact were positively surprised. If you choose the Gourmand version, you get all the classics but it is pressed fresh orange juice and the croissant's were served warm... The only place we had warm crossiants ( for me it makes all the difference) so it gets an extra star.. Lovely views watching the world go by in a classic french bar, that hasn't had a makeover.. Interesting that a lot of local's seem to use it as their bolt hole in the morning, so it has a nice familiar feel to it rather than a tourist destination..

Ate here on one of our first nights in St Martin. My steak rather tough and fatty, not a prime cut but paid top notch prices. Slow service. Had much better meals at Cote de Jardin and Les Embumes.

The Front Port is a restaurant installed in a bourgeois house. The decoration is a merry mixture between the XVIIIth style and the decoration " recycling(recovery) the Indus ". The location is leading, except the flow with a magnificent view on the port,
The food was good but probably not great value as nothing particularly special. We have had better for half the cost. Wine list is also expensive and not diverse. Not a particularly friendly ambience.Dear customer,I regret that you, like the majority of our customers, did not enjoy our chefâs cuisine and that you find that the prices charged do not match the services offered, which is not usually the case on the returns we have from our customers. In the end, you didnât like the evening!!Very cordially,Mme LAPORTE

L'Ocean is an excellent restaurant with very good food and a lovely ambience. There is an inside area and terrace - you can take your dog!

We chose this restaurant as they had put a list of fish available on their door rather than the highly limited offerings in other restaurants. One has to consider that this is up an alley off the port but the interior is stunning. On a beautiful night in September it was, of course, outside in the lane for us.The staff were lovely and highly attentive and service brilliant. We looked at the menu and it was a first to see that all starters were in double figures!! We decided on a plate of mussels to share believing they must be very large indeed. Certainly the mussels werenât but very enjoyable other than quite a few that did not open and a number with crushed shells- surely these should have been filtered.I ordered the sole and herself the Cote de Veau. The sole meunière arrived with a cup of potato mash (which was in fact delicious) and that was it! No vegetables but some finely chopped parsley! It was alright but nothing out of the ordinary. The Veal was also alright but unfortunately arrived with a similar cup of mash and a mushroom/onion gravy that would have graced a beef dish. Unfortunately it completely masked the subtle taste of veal!Herself decided she would go big for desert and not have a Creme caramel but Grand Mereâs Creme Caramel - exactly the same but bigger!!It was alright meal but it was more expensive than any meal we had on the harbour side looking at the boats and people walking by whereas, here, it was the back of houses and an hotel!!I have not included anything about the wine as that was our choice.....No, we will not be back here and probably not to Saint Martin either! Parisienne Plage has run its course for us......

First, what it is not: A restaurant for families with kids (who would rather have McDonalds) Not for Vegans, Picky eaters, Gluten freebies or other food Nazis. The interior is super cute with a nautical theme, I love the tables with real sand and shells under the glass. They use lots of local ingredients including fresh Salicorns and the locally grown small potatoes, and of course fresh fish and other seafood. They have daily specials based on what was fresh at the moment. We both had the fish and it was excellent, tasted as if grilled over a wood fire. The octopus starter was also very enjoyable. They do get booked up, so make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Would also not be a bad idea to look at their website to familiarize yourself with the menu. Good friendly service. We will be back next year.

The food and the ambiance at this restaurant were excellent. The décor with all the little lights is delightful. The service was good once we were seated, however it was disappointing that, as we were 10 minutes early for our table we were asked to come back at the right time. This meant waiting outside with our 81 year old mother which was not ideal. Had we been allowed to wait at our table we would have no doubt ordered more drinks .

Managed to get a seat on a busy Tuesday night.Service was more than acceptable considering the number of diners!Crepes were excellent and something totally different and unexpected from what we English would expect as a main evening meal!(and catered for vegetarians). Cost was reasonable considering location.Staff were very helpful (particularly the young male waiter)and assisted with our basic French! The restaurant is by the harbour and a nice to watch the sun go down.Great visit..Merci!!
