Recommended and booked by our hotel, this restaurant was a great choice. Very helpful staff - with helpful advice. Meals are mainly from the grill served with salad and baked potatoes. We shared a sirloin steak cooked perfectly to our order which was delicious with an excellent house wine to complement it. The restaurant was buzzing midweek and was good value.

This restaurant hit the spot - we fancied something simple and ordered grilled meats, fries and a lovely salad. The portion sizes were extremely generous, and the food was delicious. Service was absolutely charming - we speak no Portuguese, the waitress spoke no English but we managed, helped by Google Translate! We ordered water, two half-bottles of wine, two mains, fries for two, a salad for two, a pudding, two coffees and two ports and spent 32 Euros - really. The Champions' League final was on TV and we were able to keep an eye on the game without it intruding. We ate early and the restaurant was soon full of locals and other tourists. I hope they continue to do well.

We ate at this restaurant as part of our Douro Valley day trip and wine tasting tour with Viator. I was pleasantly surprised with the salad and pork dish I had. The pork was incredibly tender and flavourful and amongst the best pork dishes I have had in Europe. The white and red wines for lunch were just average. The port wine tasting after our meal was great. We tried port wines that were 20 and 30 years old and they both tasted great. I was almost tempted to buy a bottle but we really don't have much space in our luggage.

This restaurant seemed popular with locals and I think I know why: massive meals and very reasonable prices. We had a tuna salad; beans and pork stew with rice; and roast chicken. The latter two meals were big enough to see you through the day, easily. Not terribly sophisticated but very Portuguese. Vegetarians will struggle here, though.

We stayed in the small town of Sabrosa, whilst visiting the Douro Valley and there were few options to dine out, but saw this small restaurant whilst driving back to our accommodation and thought we'd try it out. At first we thought it was closed, but they were just setting up for the evening, so we made a booking (not really necessary) and came back later for a meal.It was a simple place, the décor somewhat dated, the waiter had broken English and the menu was in Portuguese, so through some attempts at communication and guesses from the menu, we left it up to the waiter/owner/chef to feed us. We were definitely not disappointed! We started with local beer and were served Octopus, baked potatoes, salad, wafer chips, pork sausage, bread and cheese and steak and mushrooms, all then washed down with a bottle of local wine and a port to finish all for around E50. The dishes were also of ample size to have completely filled us (4) by the end of the meal. The food was delicious, the staff helpful and by the time we left, the place was filling with locals ordering dishes similar to what we enjoyed. If you're in the Region, it's worth checking out for lunch or dinner.

I cannot say enough about this place. It is truly the gem of Sabrosa in my view. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is great, and the prices even better! There is a lovely garden in the back for outdoor dining, and inside the atmosphere is cozy. We enjoyed our dinner so much on the first night that we returned again a second time. The beef platter for two can actually feed four people and it is delicious. The salads are fresh and perfectly dressed. The pizza and pasta also top notch.

We arrived a bit late as our navigation system guided us through gravel roads and wine yards- the direct way - which turned out to be an adventurous drive with steep hills and over a very narrow bridge. When we arrived we found out that there was a normal road as well. Being late the welcome was a bit cold - as cold as the tasting room temperature - but once our guide realized that we had some knowledge on wine she quickly opened up and we had a very interesting tour of the cellar! Everything very modern and clean with a few on the environment. The wine tasting was very enjoyable and we even received a few very good recommendations. To visit a reservation is a must!

We were very happy with every aspect of our experience at this restaurant. The patio seating is pleasant with picturesque views of the Douro River and opposing hillside vineyard. It wasn't too hot when we visited, but if you tend to get warm indoor seating looked nice as well. The food was wonderful. Very fresh, with nice combinations and mixtures of flavors. I ordered the risotto, which was wonderful, but not filling enough so I also ordered the octopus. The food was a mixture of traditional and contemporary Portuguese cuisine. We arrived early in our rental car, as there are not a lot of spots in the small parking lot, although I imagine you could park on the street. I saw that some people walked from the cruise ship parked close by.Thank you for the kind words and I am pleased you enjoyed your meal. Parking during the harvest is difficult and we are trying to improve this. We dont get many people from the boats coming to see us as they tend to be all inclusive.
