Being taken to this gem of a restaurant as a guest, I expected rustic South Tyrolean food. What a surprise: The menu consisted of old classics (p.ex. hay-soup, summer game) but everything was served with a twist. The presentation of every single dish was spectacular - as you would only expect it in an in-restaurant in a large city. I will be back - and staying overnight in one of the cozy rooms!

You will need to have someone local or who lives in South Tyrol for you to know and stumble across this small cafe as it is absolutely not easy to locate in the mountains....luckily my partner is from the area so we could navigate to it pretty easy. This cafe is extremely simple and basic but the cakes the lady owner produces are mouthwateringlg incredible. There where 4 of us sampling the delicacies of these fresh wonders and the owner kindly produced a little sample plate for us where we could taste a vast array of her baking. We had Italian coffee and sparkling water to accompany the sweets. The cafe has a good sized seating area and you can get the cakes to go. Enjoy eating some fresh cakes here and you will absolutely want to take some away.

According to Michelin Red Star and the local hoteliers, it is unlikely you will find a good restarant in the otherwise lovable town of Brunico. So our hotel manager, when challenged, neither advised nor recommended any spot, just informed us of this one due to its specific location (top floor of an ultramodern complex by the Town Hall), hundred yards from the lively Via Centrale.A sad failure. Ultramodern again, a wine cellar behind glass walls, both offering a remote promise of a serious nouvelle cuisine culinary experience. Very well kept modern restrooms. Bonus stops right here. The place was nearly empty, waiters appeared bored. No warmth or hospitality in the approach of the two ladies which served our table in turns. We came at 13.45, kitchen works till 14.15, and still the impression was that the service team was hugely disappointed upon getting two more guests. Luckily we speak both German and Italian sufficiently to discuss the menu, order our stuff and pay. Neither English nor French were of any good. Now, Brunico is a very strong tourist centre...Wine list acceptable, far from extensive. Markups exactly as in our (five star) hotel... Rip off for Italy, acceptable for neighboring countries. Food served matched the overall company caffeteria feeling we got during the ordering process. Even home-made pasta was mediocre, beef tagliatta sliced too thickly and served medium rather than medium rare as ordered. Classic Italian food (in part Tyrolean) made in a very mediocre way, neither appearance nor taste were convincing. 8- on a 1 to 20 scale. A sad disappointment it was, even though the look through glass walls at the nearby snow covered Dolomiti is so pleasing. All in all, bad price per value. Can not recommend. Perhaps good for local white collars for a concentrated business lunch.

Dolasilla is located at the foot of Korer gondola. You can directly reach the restaurant on skis and there is a parking lot if you are coming by car. Around lunchtime it is very busy there in high season, especially Italians and people from eastern Europe seem to love the really excellent pizzas. Service could be faster and better, you really have to tell them that you are here and that you would like to order something. The pizza menue is really great, you can get any pizza that you can imagine. You can watch how your pizza is made and after a few minutes it is baked and served. Prizes are fair, so really recommended.

Die Oberegger Alm öffnet wieder Anfang Dezember mit dem Beginn der Wintersaison 2019/2020. Wir freuen uns auf Euren Besuch.
Oberegger Alm has great food. Especially the carpaccio was delicious. The location has both new and old side (old being in the old farm house). There is a limited number of seating available, so it is definately worth to reserve table in advance.

Historical, traditional Tyrolian Restaurant
We specifically tried this restaurant, attracted by good reviews on the web. The environment is very characteristic, old Tyrolean style. We were aware that it was advisable to book, but we couldn't do it; moreover, it was Saturday night. So we were not surprised when, having presented ourselves at 6.30pm, we were told that if we accepted to eat at that time, there were vacancies; later, no. We have obviously accepted. The restaurant has lived up to its reputation. But my wife didn't like the strong taste of her goulash (which included tomato paste).Everything else was very commendable: the two soups, one of potatoes and mushrooms, the other with knoedels. As main dish, I took one of the most typical ones of German cuisine, the "Haxe" (baked pork knuckle): it was exquisite, but huge, and I struggled to eat it all.A liter of mineral water, and two wine glasses, a Lagrein Reserve and a Blauburgunder, completed our meal. Finally, the bill, of 55 euros, featured an excellent quality-price ratio.

This is big place with big garden, big portions, big toilettes at the lover station of the ski slopes. They have fast service during the day. Waiters have karo shirts. Place is very convenient to stop after skiing, for refreshment or for very hungry (thirsty) sportsmen.

Serving only locals we discovered this hidden gem. Simple decor yet brilliant food and service. Very Italian slow food and loaded with special treats. We enjoyed the fish week. There appears to be a regularly changing seasonal menu.
