The restaurant looks out over the mountains and lake. The style is relaxed and with high quality and values. Food served is European in style. There are 7 double ensuite bedrooms which have fabulous views and comfort.
We stumbled across this restaurant, wondered whether it was open, walked in and were totally wowed! The view is like nothing else, the service was brilliant, the food/value for money outstanding (we were given a free appetiser and aperitif) and quality of the facilities high end. We would strongly recommend you search out this restaurant. We will be returning...
I have been coming here on a very regular basis for coffee, drinks, tapas and meals for at least 15 years. It is an unpretentious, very Spanish, café bar with excellent tapas, basic menu del dia and some tasty a la carte raciones or full courses. Service can be a bit surly but Fabiola the owner makes one feel very welcome. Very fair prices

Staying in nearby Riogordo where there is very little so went out every other night to explore the area. Our adult son joined us for part of our holiday and we all went out for dinner on his first night. We sat on the terrace but was late and too dark to really enjoy what I know are wonderful views. The service a bit slow. The food fine with a decent choice. A good local restaurant. Just not brilliant. It could be so much better.

Dinner for 3, 2 courses, 80 euros. We have eaten here before and had high expectations. However overall this was a disappointment. The restaurant was busy - especially outside. we chose to eat inside to get away from the UK expats that were camped outside, smoking. Inside its nicely presented and our waitress was very nice and tried very hard. Service was generally good and the place is nice and clean. The food was a bit disappointing. We ordered the special - lamb shoulder. I wonder if this was actually kid meat. It was tasty and quite large. However we were not informed of the price on ordering which i think was a bit cheeky as it was 22 euros a portion. Ok, fair enough, it costs what it costs BUT this is quite a bit more expensive than anything on the standard menu. My son had the duck which was requested pink but came very rare/underdone and consequently chewy, the fat wasn't cooked at all and inedible. The desserts - a mixed bag - the brownie was nice. My wife had a crema catalana which was also described as creme brûlée on the menu - it is not! way too much gelatine making it very rubbery and unpleasant. We should have sent both the duck and dessert back but when you're on holiday you don't like to complain and spoil the mood, so hey ho!Overall, a nice setting - inside and nice staff . Quite nice meal but slightly spoilt by cheek pricing and sloppy cooking in places. Too expensive for what we received.

Visited on tuesday evening beginning august. Had a rumpsteak which was very large but a bit fatty and chips like burger king. Ate inside which was nice and cool or there is a good size outside area with a lovely lakeview. English is understood with quite a few english customers at the time. 70 euros for 3 mains, 2 small beers, 2 glasses of wine and a desert. Not the fantastic place that some rave about but perfectly adequate for a family evening meal.

Verdugo's has been a longstanding favourite of ours and of our friends for years - cheap, huge portions of typical Spanish food, simply and excellently cooked, very popular with locals and expatriates alike, and with Antonio at the centre of it all - friendly, highly efficient, welcoming. The great news is that that's all still true (& indeed we had a selection of dishes for an evening meal with a friend this time that weren't even on the menu: we just asked Antonio what he'd recommend). The bad news is that the place is up for rent - and it's not yet clear how quickly it'll change hands, and indeed whether a new owner or tenant would keep it going as a restaurant. There are 2 new restaurants or bars in the main street now so there's still plenty of choice, and another of the restaurants further up the road on the opposite side has been refurbished too, but Periana won't feel the same without Verdugo's at the centre of it. Go there quick, while you still can.

Dine in style in a traditional Spanish Finca with exceptional sea, lake, and mountain views. Relaxing inside or outside on our terrace you can enjoy Mediterranean food at its best.
My first time back for over two years but the restaurant was as good as ever. Located on a spur overlooking Lake Vinuela, the gardens surrounding the restaurant are a mass of colour with hundreds of butterflies (and wasps). From the terrace the views are spectacular. The food is not bad either. The main change since a few years ago is the offer of a wide range of tapas and a small a la carte selection. We chose five dishes from the tapas section and they were all very good: deep fried aubergines with cane honey, deep fried squid with garlic sauce, fried fish (really good) and chips with tartare sauce, patatas bravas and grilled prawns with garlic sauce, which we shared. Finally, we each had a dish from the tapas section which could not be shared; a ramikin filled with patatas bravas and chorizo, topped with a fried egg, really good (and very filling)For pudding I enjoyed the fig pudding served with orange sauce. We retreated indoors when the wasps came hunting and came outside again for coffee. This is a thoroughly enjoyable venue for lunch with great views and food; the reward for the drive into the hills by Periana and the unmadeup road to the restaurant!
