I chose the place because it wasn't overrun and seemed to offer nice home style cooking. Unfortunately it turned out to be a very average place with respect to the food, the beer and the service. There are a number of places nearby that simply can't be worse.

This place seems quite popular, we went twice and most of the tables were taken each night, even though it was Easter.I get the impression that this couple has been here for quite a while, because they have an air of guardedness or skepticism that we didn't feel anywhere else in Offenburg. I'm sorry they have had bad experiences, but if they were more open or friendly, I would rate them higher. We did come back here because the food was plentiful and the beer was fairly fresh, and they were one of the few places that were open for Easter. This restaurant is like most German-style ones we visited in Offenburg. There are a few very popular dishes for the area, and if you are looking for other German specialties, you're not going to find them. The food is interesting and tasty.

We went to Schoellmanns mid-September 2015 for a business lunch. I was very surprised to find such modern joint in the center of sleepy Offenburg in Germany. The food was excellent with exclusively fresh ingredients, the service was stellar and the views from the modern penthouse terraces were impressive. If you are ever in Offenburg, go there!

Having recently visited Offenburg on business I was faced with the hotel restaurant or the opportunity to be a little more adventurous so once again I trusted Trip Advisor to lead the way.I chose the Ferdinand restaurant as it had the top rating in the area and I'm so pleased that I did as it was a wonderful experience. As my German language skills are very poor I had some difficulty understanding the menu so I opted for the Vital Menu which was a 4 course fixed menu and as I wasn't sure what I had ordered I was a little apprehensive until my first course arrived. It was a beautifully presented started with a scallop as its centre piece. The next three courses were just as beautifully presented and every one of them was delicious. If I get the opportunity to revisit the area I know where I will be heading for dinner.

On our way back from France, we decided to enjoy a lovely dinner together. We stop here and it was good. The staff was on the spot with greeting us and was always attentive to our needs. The place was abuzz with patrons, jovial and lively atmosphere. We had to start with fried cheese which was quite tasty. The main course was a mix of bifteki and gyro meat. The tzaziki sauce was perfect! We had the house wine which was a good accompaniment to the dinner. We finished our meal with a greek desert, a type of custard pie, but not a custard, it was a little bit of Greece that you would enjoy.

The food and wine served at Wasser und Brot were excellent. Service was very friendly and internationally orientated: they speak flawless english french and german ;) The prices are not low but that is to be expected. We really enjoyed the evening..

We have dinner at the Bombay when we want something different to the many traditional restaurants in the area (and maybe an after-dinner cocktail). The dining room is great with a long bar and good atmosphere. Food and service have always been very good but on the pricey side.

We were looking for a proper German place and we had!Very good beer.....We had a typical German soup and pork schnitzel to share to finish with Apple Strudel.Very nice decor!
This is a delightful hotel with a great restaurant. It is set in a residential area about 15 mins walk from the Offenburg train station. We visited so that we could take the train from Offenburg to Donaueschingen a great trip through the Black Forest. A little dated in parts but that is its charm. Good parking. The chef has a great menu of traditional German fare, great flavours. Good choice of dishes and price range. Nice little garden with childrenâs play area. Booked direct via email, good efficient response. Would visit again to enjoy restaurant. Helpful pleasant staff. Unusual combination of great restaurant good hotel, Fantastic value. I agree a great base for the Black Forest, and saves on the high Swiss prices.

I came with a friend and couldn't be more satisfied. The food was amazing, well cooked and perfectly served from the starters to the desserts. Also the staff was really friendly. I highly recommend it if you're in Strasbourg! Not pricy at all, especially considering the quality
