Ningbo (Chinese: 宁波; Mandarin pronunciation: [nǐŋ pwó] ( listen)), formerly written Ningpo, is a sub-provincial city in northeast Zhejiang province in China. It comprises the urban districts of Ningbo proper, three satellite cities, and a number of rural counties including islands in Hangzhou Bay and the East China Sea. Its port, spread across several locations, is among the busiest in the world and the municipality possesses a separate state-planning status. As of the 2010 census, the entire administrated area had a population of 7.6 million, with 3.5 million in the six urban districts of Ningbo proper. To the north, Hangzhou Bay separates Ningbo from Shanghai; to the east lies Zhoushan in the East China Sea; on the west and south, Ningbo borders Shaoxing and Taizhou respectively.

Food is good however pricey. I have been already 3 times and service otherwise than being the worse, never improve and /or learn. What I believe to be the staff manager ( a chinese ) is rude as possible. I would definitly recomend Amore's restaurant if you want great italian food in ningbo

Wow! One of the best dinners that we have ever had. We have been in this restaurant at least 4 or 5 times and the experience is superb! We even celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas and they never dissapoint us. Their staff is without a doubt the best in the world! Amazing customer service! They have an excellent team in charge of providing you with a personalized and unique experience. I experienced the same in Shanghai so I guess it is a constant in the Shangri-La Hotels. However, the Ningbo one is beyond good! They even remember my food preferences and allergies. For me this is a plus!The food is amazing and the prices are ad hoc to the Hotel´s quality. The wine selection is good. The music is really good as well. They have live music with a really good couple. Both perform really well and the music is according to the restaurant style. We have experienced terrible singers in other Hotels, but this is definetely not the case in this Restaurant. Really good songs selections as well. It is not a noisy or crowed place and they do not have kids running from side to side, which helps when you are enjoying a romantic or businness dinner. The size is perfect to enjoy a nice dinner or meal.Their staff speaks english, which helps us a lot since our mandarin is not that good. I have been here for about 3 weeks and was missing home cooking, Barolo was the place for me to go. I took out a small group of 9 from the local office and we all had a great meal with excellent service. I really missed this type of food and now I am very happy.I would like to thanks to you vist and sharing food experience on tripadvisor Im happy to know you had enjoyed dining at Barolo and recommend to others friend Looking forward to welcome back in the future SincerelyAmi hua -Manager

First of all, what a bad service. The waiter speaks like he's paid per order or something and makes you feel rushed when ordering. Then he asked us to remove plates before we even finished everything. The other staff who were bringing food looked lethargic. That is enough to never come back here again.The portions were small for the price and the food was hit and miss. I was told this place was much better before, looks like other reviewers share the sentiments...Nice location and setting, though.

Traveling from America to NINGBO on business. Went to Con Gusto with 7 people. They were great. Gave us a private room. So many great options. I had pasta and it was delicious. The last time we were here in January the place as busy and the food was very good. The surroundings were fine but this time the food was quite ordinary. We all had pasta that said on the menu it was home made. The Gnocchi was inedible so we sent it back. The Gnocchi was remade and still hard and floury . The sauce was fine but not the Gnocchi. The Bolognese flat pasta was also undercooked but barely edible with very little sauce. The starters were ok and the dessert ok but not the Cheesecake. It was nothing like Cheesecake it was hard and glueyThanks for your feedback,really sorry about the gnocchi,hope you will come to try the gnocchi again,we will provide the tasty and special gnocchi for you.And enjoy the trip in Ningbo.

I spied O'Reilly's Irish Pub shortly after checking into the Sheraton across the street. After a formal sit down with a factory at a horrible Italian restaurant I sneaked across the street for a pint and proper meal. I ended up with a burger, not something I would normally order but it seemed right. The burger itself was unremarkable so I would probably check that off. The fries were good and the beer was great, Boxing Cat Pale Ale. The crowd was a goodmix of westerners, Chinese and central Asians. Staff was good, a little too good.
