I've been to Paulaner here in Nanjing a few times with friends, and while I've always had a decent enough time, I find the entire place to feel entirely too much like a 'tourist trap' aimed at luring in local Chinese people wanting to feel like they're getting an authentic western experience. The food is of decent quality, but pricey for what it is. The alcohol is similarly over-priced, and it's not exactly world class beer you're throwing back.Their live music is generally of a fantastic standard, but the atmosphere of the place is diminished by the large groups of obscenely drunk local businessmen who frequent the establishment. The fact there are signs posted informing guests where to vomit, and that there are regularly people passing out, falling over, or shouting at one another is an indication of the calibre of guest the place attracts.Give it a miss.
In LâArôme Express, you could enjoy everything about the french style in a relaxing way. Designed and decorated in a minimalist approach, the restaurant is informal and stylish with green plants. Created by our outstanding chef and his team from FRANCE Lâ

Wow I was a little shocked at the prices of this place but for high quality tasty food, it is pretty decent. I had the pasta as it was the cheapest item on the menu for 68 RMB. It was really cheesy and really delicious. The serving size was a bit on the small size but ok. The decor is lovely and there is plenty of seating. The staff need to be a little more attentive with their service: not yell for each other, serve water when you arrive, also the staff member who i called didn't want to come and was calling another staffer who was busy chatting away.
Located in the center business district of Nanjing, LâARÃME is a place to meet and to enjoy the culinary arts âà la françaiseâ. Can you believe the existence of nice french dishes with reasonable price? Come and Try! The charming modern decoration can be
Nice restaurant despite its underground location. The service is accurate even if the waiters (one of them speaking French and English) have to fight with an order through i-Pad which is nice to see but unefficient. Food is good and the dishes are beautiful.

We came here with a group of 6 and the service was very attentive. Most of the servers spoke English or if not they would come and get someone who understood us immediately. Our drinks/food orders were filled fast, however, not in the order (for the food) as we would have liked and asked. But we made it work. The food itself was great. We had salads, risotto, soups, cheese fries, full chicken and desserts. The full chicken could have stayed a little longer in the oven but the rest was perfect. There's something for everyone's taste. Also, the style of the restaurant and its atmosphere are very welcoming, a little Scandinavian I thought, with nice views of the city wall just South of Zhong Hua Men.

Had a business dinner there. Great salads, fantastic french style meat dishes. Good wine choice. Service is not very attentive - here is definitely room for improvement. After we were finished with the main course - they removed everything including wine glasses and did neither offer dessert nor another drink.

Finnegans Wake is Nanjingâs premier Irish bar. Established in 2008 Finnegans has been offering a high quality of food and service to the Nanjing community. The bar is situated in the oldest part of the city near GanXi residence the largest and best-preser
In China there are a lot of Irish bars not fit to serve a Guinness, but this is the one that breaks the mould. Finnegan's is a small corner of home, neatly tucked away in the corner of Nanjing. This was my third visit to Finnegan's, which should say all it needs about the pub. The pints are fresh and the staff are always on the ball. Ian, the owner, in particular is always on top form. He makes you feel at home and dishes out the same kind of chat you would get behind the bar back home. On top of this, if you're a whisky drinker, you'll find plenty of rarities in the malt room to try out. On top of the great atmosphere and fresh pint, the food is outstanding. Even for good bar standards back home, the kitchen really do well in creating some well loved, homemade favourites in the Orient. I've tried the steak pie, mince and tatties, and roast chicken - I can fault none of them. All in all, if you ever feel homesick or in need of a good pint, head to Finnegan's. It's the main reason I keep going back to Nanjing.
