I have been to high class restaurants like three michelin stars, but I have never tasted anything that good. Every dish is made individually and the presentation was perfect. It was that good on the first day that I went back two days later. Between my wife, two friends and myself we ordered everything that was available. Not a single mistake, I can recommend the entire choice available. The waiter, the young cook and his wife were top notch. Go there fast. It is not crowded, located in a small village at the tip of the Médoc and is worth a 100 miles drive...

It's a while since my visit. I'm writing this as TripAdvisor did it's usual "tell us a bit more aboutâ¦". We ate dinner here on the terrace, which is quite pleasant opposite the local church, but right on the roundabout in the centre of the village, so occasionally quite noisy. The food was OK, but presentation completely over the top with daft size platesâI remember one huge glass plate with coloured decorationsâthat did not complement the food. The food was not bad, just mucked about with.Service was strange, and by the end of the mealânot at all lateâstaff were stacking away the tables and chairs around us.Overall, I think it would be unfair to give a poor rating, but we agreed that we wouldn't go back.Let us be serious sir on the notices, you put 5 stars for 12,50⬠menu in the local café, me says well a BAR, with many " full " people who drink so mutch "it's the commerce café place for relooking the world" and cherry on the cake, which makes a today's special made with frozen product then please, " of grace(favor) " you said my place is not quiet and you prefere the place with all alcolique people ,we dont have the same idea of life , i work and used only frech local production for vegetable and fish your opinion is ridiculous

A great starter of fish soup had us expecting an awesome meal but in honesty the main courses were nowhere near the same standard. It was ok but it certainly wasn't what we expected or hoped for. Service was ok but not outstanding. It wasn't down to them being overrun either as it was only moderately busy but then so was the whole resort.

This was a lunch we could easily forget. All four members of the party had the lunch menu and the consensus of opinion was that it was below average. Buffet selection was meagre and the mains were forgetable.Maybe the standard was low because it was towards the end of the tourist season. Overall: if we ever visit Vendays Montalivet again we will not dine here.

En front de mer, spécialité poissons, mais pas exclusivement. Homard breton, St Jacques fraîches, merlu, sole...
Albeit out of high season and on a Thursday night and not busy, the 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Like the limited choice menu, (even though a couple of selections were not available).Service was absolutely charming, the ambiance very comfortable and I have to say I had one of the best entrecôtes in living memory thus proving if you select produce from high quality suppliers you can charge premium prices. We've tried a few restos in Montalivet and this is a considerable notch above the others.(Chai Simone is a new one and seems very promising)

This new restaurant in Montalivet is a nice surprise. The entourage is good, you can have dinner in the garden in front of the restaurant. The restaurant serves local French dishes, as well as dishes with an oriental influence. Quality of the food is good, staff is friendly.

Exquisite food, beautiful ambiance, nice wine and very good service. They have attention for details. We simply had a perfect evening and will certainly return in midsummer to enjoy the outside terrace. My understanding is that the menu is changed very frequently so if you have the chance, have the salmon as an entree!

Not really a 'peasant table', but an ambitious and sophisticated eatery offering a limited selection of local and more exotic dishes, well cooked and served. Prices not cheap, but the quality is good. The pierrade (meat or fish) is interesting, but only served on the terrace, which is in an uninteresting little side street off the famous market. This is also an outlet for 13 wine producers from the region.
