Bizarre experience for a Michelin star. Undermines the credibility and reliability of the Michelin guide. Choice of five starters; I had boiled fish in a sauce, my son some good tomatoes with two chunks of mozzarella. The former inadequate, the latter at least as good at home.Main course a choice between steak and, et, steak. Really. Pan fried with croquettes and a few boiled yellow carrots and jus. Good brasserie food but certainly no more.Interesting wine list, but no bargains.Wine 9 euros a glass from a bottle that costs less than 12. Work out the profit margin on that.Two people, first and mains, two glasses of wine each. 178 euros.Oh, and the decor is decidedly bistro.I feel sorry for the chefs that have a merited star, and have had to work so hard for.

The restaurant is not bad. I don't want to say anything like that. On the contrary, I would even say it is a good restaurant, with a friendly staff. However, for a vegetarian person who doesn't like cheese, like me, it is a tough place. This restaurant is especially recommended if you like cheese and if you are a carnivore. My friend wanted to eat here. I agreed, not knowing I wouldn't be able to eat anything at all. Dear Steve, Thank you for your review. As a restaurant specialized in cheese I admit that if youâre not a cheese-lover our menu can not suit you. Thatâs so bad you didnât let us know that because we use to make special dishes for non cheese-lover. We have a lot of vegetarian dishes (for cheese-lover) but we can also adapt our dishes for the other vegetarians ou vegans. For example we always have vegan pastry to adapt all of our burgers for vegetarians. Your review makes me conscious that we should write this in our menu to let everyone know that. Iâm so sorry you didnât enjoy your meal and hope youâll give us another chance.

We enjoyed being there with friends. The quality of the food and the composition of the menu was very well taken care of. The place is really small and I enjoyed seeing how things were prepared. In fact, the following day I prepared my self one of the dishes, and I like to "learn" when I go to restaurants as it updates/ renovates my own cooking.The reason why I do not rate it a bit higher is because it's a bit too small, and the choice of menu is a bit limited. But the overall experience was very good, and I will definitely come back

We went for a late lunch at Maximeâs, the food was great and the service excellent. We have a young baby and itâs not always easy to find somewhere that can accommodate and doesnât mind. The waiter was fantastic, super friendly, polite & great menu knowledge. We ordered the mezze & a mixed grill; so much food, we couldnât finish it. It was lovely and we particularly enjoyed the assortment in the mezze. Excellent afternoon, thank you.

We had enjoyed an earlier visit very much to this restaurant in the centre of Mons a few years ago so we decided to return with a group of 8. The restaurant recently got a new start under a new chef a few months ago so we were curious to see I the earlier quality could be maintained.The maître was the same as then and recognised me and even remembered the hotel we had been staying in more than 2 years ago! The service was impeccable, the food excellent. No experiments on your plate but exquisitely prepared and served dishes with local and seasonal elements. When the chef came to our table at the end of the meal we wholeheartedly complemented him and his team and said weâll be back next time in Mons.We had a wonderful evening and recommend this place to anyone loving good food and an honest and hard-working team.Merci et au plaisir de vous revoir a l'art des mets

I consider myself a food critic having tried several places in cities across the world. This was a breath of fresh air in every aspect. Food but also service, wine pairing by the glass. I am considering changing my travel plans just to be able to come back. Do not miss it! We got lucky with a walk-in, I would recommend making a reservation. Enjoy!

The atmosphere is a little casual for a "romantic" evening, but the experience is wonderful. Staff extremely friendly, reasonable prices, great food, pretty easy access. Highly recommend.

Best restaurant we found in Mons. Definitely worth a try. Modern decor, comfortable chairs, nice view of the kitchen. Gastronomy at its best. Outstanding service. Very professional and knowledgeable, yet friendly staff. Everything was absolutely divine. Very good bread and raw milk butter. A few extra goodies here and there. There was a problem with the credit card system, but staff was very helpful in finding a solution, and apologetic. I highly recommend this place.

The facade is nondescript; if you aren't looking you can easily miss it. But once inside, you are in for a treat.The concept is interesting. A small plate of appetizers is brought to you then you help yourself to one of two dishes, one vegetarian and the other with meat, which are served alongside a starch. The menu changes daily and the lunch price of 14 euro is a steal. Will definitely return.
