Things to do in Lezignan-Corbieres

We visited again last week, with a little caution as recent reviews have held back on praise. However, we need not have worried, having thoroughly enjoyed dining here in July 2014 we did so again. Only reservation was that I chose a rather too robust local red wine (my fault - should have sought sommelier assistance). Good "Logis" and "Saison" menus; and excellent adult -style children's menu. The informal outside dining is super for families to enjoy a warm summer evening meal. OK. Not a "destination" restaurant, but a strong recommendation for good feed if you are in the area.

We popped in after dinner for dessert and coffee. Warm welcome, table for two by the water, impeccable service. We ordered chocolate gateau with chantilly cream and two scoops of icecream to share. Chocolate gateau, still warm from the oven, was sublime. The chantilly cream came with whole fresh blueberries. The two boules of icecream and the cake were decorated with a cape gooseberry complete with opened seed case. Imaginative and such an innovative, enticing finishing touch. Coffee was superb too. We are sad they will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday) as we are certain brunch there would be delicious too.

Weâve been visiting the area the last month and enjoyed four fabulous evenings at this beautiful restaurant. The food is exquisite and served in the âhidden/secretâ (thus the name of the restaurant) courtyard, weather permitting. You may question some of the combination of flavors but wow, do they work! Thank you so much Herminie and Phillipe (and family) for amazing food, service and memories......must have dishes La Peps (desert) and the pork cooked two ways (main). Tres tres tres bon!

First impression is homely and welcoming. You knew this is a French restaurant immediately. The service was efficient and polite and they understood english. The food was very well presented and beautifully prepared. Choices at a 2 course Formula for 13 Euro or a 3 course for just 16 Euro made this a very well priced meal. The place was full of locals and not tourists which said it must be good and fairly priced. It was.

This small place always surprises me. Initially very fine for lunch dishes and Tapas now evolved into a full fledged dinner place ( Thursday to Saturday). A varied dinner awaits one every evening. All cooked fresh and on site! Yesterdays meal was Spanish ham with a tomato-mix on toast, a fine smooth creme soup with fish, gratin with bacalao and potatoes, blanquette of veal with risotto, cheese, tarte aux banane. All this for under EUR 30. Service is quick and friendly.

If you are looking for a quality restaurant in this area La Luciole is perfect. From the welcome, to the lay out of the restaurant but more importantly the food is exceptional. Its presentation, content and flavour being 1st Class. ( The Gambas, St Jacques being agood example ). If you have not tried it before order a glass of Pineau blanc while you study the menu. Fully recommend this Restaurant. Thanks to all for turning a tiring day of driving into a great evening.

I never thought that this sort of place still existed. Family run; all home cooking; brilliant and friendly service and amazing rapport qualité-prix. Four of us had a three course lunch (plus an extra terrine course thrown in) including quarter of a litre of wine each and coffee for 75 euros.I cannot commend this place more. A Tuesday midday - it was heaving with people - there must have been 60.Go there while you can.

Normally I go to Lezignan for the market on Wednesday mornings, which is a shame as this restaurant is closed on Wednesday. A bit crazy as the town is crowded, but that's the way it's been for at least 10 years. Recently I had cause to be in Lezignan on a Friday so we took advantage to have lunch at Coco Sweet. The food was absolutely great so I had to write a report. There is a wide range of food on offer from salads, galettes, a list of plats and menu du jour. The latter you can have solo (plat, 10 euro), duo (entrée, plat, 12.50) or trio (entrée, plat et dessert, 14.50). As well as the plat du jour you can have other plates - I had a piece de boucher. A half litre of good Corbiere wine is 6 euros. The restaurant has a lot of inside seating but we sat on the shady terrace which was very pleasant. Summary - excellent food for not much money. Recommended!
