Find out what European restaurants to try in Lake Como. A gorgeous spot that’s a convenient day trip from Milan, Lake Como recently earned fame as home to Hollywood star George Clooney. But celeb-spotting aside, it’s known for jaw-dropping natural beauty, elegant old villas—and the scenic towns surrounding the lake. Check out Varenna, Bellagio, and Menaggio, which offer great views, historic churches, and water-based activities such as ferries and passenger-only boats.

The restaurant is by the lake, with a beautiful view and ambiance. The menu is not large but has good options of seafood and pasta. Big wine list. The cover charge is 3 Euros and main course go from 15 to 30 Euros.

We loved stumbling across this restaurant. The staff were so accommodating (we arrived after the official lunchtime serving hour and they adapted the menu to suit us as vegetarians). They clearly take great pride in their food and explained each dish and itâs origins. Weâd definitely go back.

Dining at Villa DâEsteâs beautiful Veranda restaurant is definitely special. The superb service complemented the beautifully presented, excellent cuisine which in turn did full justice to the room and setting. A truly elegant and enjoyable experience. My wife is a soufflé expert and very rarely does she give a soufflé 10/10 even at 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants ...but she did at Veranda. From the pre-dinner vegetable and seafood tempura nibbles at the bar (accompanied by their resident pianist) to the amuse bouche and every course, this was a lovely dinner. The sommelier was equally excellent. The style of food perfectly compliments Villa DâEste and Lake Como and is clearly up there with Michelin two star restaurants even if, due to their terrific style of cuisine being more Mediterranean than sauce heavy, they are not even trying to compete with Michelin establishments...they donât need to. Veranda is equal to many of the very best restaurants we have visited over the years and is actually a one-off in a class of its own. It is rare for a hotel restaurant to be this good! Donât hesitate in booking, you will not be disappointed.

After researching TA, I wanted to book a reservation here immediately since we were going on a Saturday night. I called the restaurant about three weeks before our travels and ended up communicating with chef Paolo through What's App. Paolo said the place was about 25 minutes from our hotel in Lezzeno. I didn't think that was a big deal until we arrived and the hotel said a taxi would be 90 euros ONE WAY to get there because it was winding roads and straight up hill. (Lesson learned, renting a car in Lake Como is probably a good idea). So I communicated with Paolo that it didn't make sense to pay 180 euros for transportation. He then quoted us a much lower price for both ways, and then sent Marina (his mom? not sure) to come get us. Now THAT is service! We had one of the best meals of our entire trip. Plus, the view!!! He split the Beef Carpaccio into two generous portions, same with the Pea and Mint Gnocchi. Both were fabulous. Then are main dishes were some of the most tender meat we have ever had; the Suckling Pig, and the Beef with Polenta. It was a nice change from all the fish we had been eating. The service was attentive and friendly (Paolo's girlfriend) and we got to visit with the family at the end. What and exquisite experience we had all around. I would highly recommend seeking a way to get to Bella Vista.Dear Mrs AmyThanks so much for a such of nice review. We hope maybe to see u again in the future. Thanks again from all us. All the bestPAOLO

Once again my large group got to experience a truly superb dinner at Il Caminetto.Providing round trip transfer from out hotel in Varenna and then offering up anabundance of food, wine, and conversation. Moreno and Rossella are the consumatehosts! It was a very memorable evening for everyone. If you are visiting Lake Como youshould definitely come here for dinner and also the cooking class. The icing on the cake is that Il Caminetto is a great value.

We had the classic menu with wine pairing for dinner, The price was very reasonable and the creativity for each course was outstanding. What made the pricing even more remarkable was an amuse bouche and petit fours (in addition to menu items) that more closely resembled food temples in Paris but at a "menu" price well under half that for a Michelin one star. Our impressions before the trip was that Como area would be overpriced and just basic Italian food, that may be true of Bellagio (which was a crowded mess) but not the rest of the area. Very highly recommend Materia if in the area, worth the trip.

Typical restaurant with a modern twist. Between the quietness of centuries trees, a large car park and terrace for al fresco dining, few meters from the main beach of the area, with rustic and welcoming style is the right place where to stop for an except
We had arrived in Lierna after more than 24 hours of travel. Il Crotto looked inviting. We were greeted by the owners, ate al fresco with complimentary Procecco. Our meal was outstanding with the owner explaining that each dish including the desserts were all made in-house. What an outstanding ending to a full and tiresome day.

We ate here and had a truly fabulous experience , the food wine and views over the lake were all superb! Sylvia is an excellent host and explains the food and wine - all part of the fixed price menu . I let her know when I booked that a vegetarian meal was required and that was sorted ! A lovely family atmosphere - all worth the journey up a very steep hill to get there!

Nel centro di Como dal 04 Maggio 2018 il nuovo ristorante di tradizione italiana con selezione Vegetariana | Vegana In cucina i migliori chef.
My husband and I came here on Monday night during our lake como visit. The restaurant has a very cute, family, cozy atmosphere. The other customers seem to be local rather than tourists. We ordered two pasta dishes and another secondi dish, and we LOVED their pasta. I LOVE pasta and I sometimes find pasta too salty, but not this one. It was al Dante and the sauce was amazing. It was actually one of the best that Iâve ever had. I am still thinking about it today. Also, the owner and the waiter (not sure if it was his son) was very kind and the service was great.Highly recommend this place!
